👻🎃 OMG did anyone else see all the ruckus at the Platts-Backus House this evening?! 😱 The 130-year-old building was full of GHOSTS and ghouls — oops 😬 I mean… GUIDES! 👻😂

Yes, tonight was the orientation for all the volunteer ghosts and guides participating in Main Street Fort Pierce’s Ghost Walk: Ghosts of Fort Pierce Past. 🕯️👻

The Fort Pierce Yacht Club is proud to provide tour managers and guides for the Untamed Coastal Tour on Thursday, October 22, beginning at 6:30 PM. 🌴🌊👻

Additionally, the Fort Pierce Yacht Club is happy to once again be a sponsor for this spooky and fun event! ⚓️🖤

The Fort Pierce Yacht Club was grateful to welcome Vickie Stromak, a volunteer recruiter from Florida Guardian ad Litem, as our guest speaker at this month’s meeting. Vickie gave us an informative overview of the organization and the important work it does to advocate for children in Florida’s foster care system.

We learned that volunteers advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse, abandonment, or neglect and are involved in court proceedings.

💙 Guardian ad Litem volunteers get to know the children they serve, help ensure their needs are heard, and provide the court with information to help guide decisions about their futures.

💙 The program helps ensure children have access to safe, permanent homes and the support they need to thrive.

A heartfelt thank you to Vickie Stromak for taking the time to educate our Fort Pierce Yacht Club members about this meaningful work and the difference it makes in the lives of vulnerable children. We appreciate the opportunity to learn more about an organization dedicated to giving every child a voice and a brighter future. 💙

Congratulations to Pursuit Boats on your 50th Anniversary! What a milestone and how special to celebrate it right here in Fort Pierce!

Giving That Honors a Legacy❤️ (edited)

Some gifts are about much more than a dollar amount. They are about honoring people, preserving their names, and making sure their contributions to our community continue to be remembered.

The Fort Pierce Yacht Club family was proud to present two $5,000 gifts and one $500 gift - $10,500 in total - to the City of Fort Pierce Florida Highwaymen Museum supporting the naming of galleries in honor of Zanobia Jefferson, John and Doretha Hair Truesdell, and to Lincoln Park Academy’s Art Department.

🎨Fort Pierce Yacht Club Foundation presents a $5,000 check for the naming of a Gallery for Zanobia Jefferson to Doretha Hair Truesdell.

🎨Robynn and Steve Holland present a $5,000 check for the naming of a Gallery for John and Doretha Hair Truesdell.

🎨Additionally, the Fort Pierce Yacht Club presented Lincoln Park Academy’s Art Department with a $500 donation, matched dollar-for-dollar by board members of Original Florida Hall of Fame Highwaymen, Inc., for a total contribution of $1,000. The funds will support art education, providing students with resources and opportunities to strengthen their skills, explore their creativity, and pursue their artistic interests.

It was a beautiful moment to see these gifts presented and to know that the names of Zanobia Jefferson, John Truesdell, and Doretha Hair Truesdell will have a lasting place within the museum.

The Fort Pierce Yacht Club and its Foundation are honored to support the preservation of these important legacies right here in the community we love. ❤️

The boat ramp is not the ideal place for a first attempt.

There will be a line behind you. Someone will be giving directions. Someone else will be using hand signals that nobody understands. And at least one person will say, “Turn the other way.”

Take a few minutes to practice before the weekend rush.

There are easier ways to test your relationship.

⚓️💕 Ladies Who Lunch! 💕⚓️

This month’s FPYC Ladies Luncheon was a smaller group, but that didn’t mean any less fun, laughter, or friendship! 🥰 The ladies enjoyed a wonderful lunch together at Charlene's Coyote Grille and another opportunity to connect, catch up, and enjoy each other’s company.

These luncheons happen every month, although sometimes our ladies are a little too shy to share a photo with us! 😉📸 We’re always happy when we can capture a few of them enjoying this special FPYC tradition.

It’s not about how many are at the table, it’s about the friendships made and the connections that keep our FPYC family strong. 💙🌊
