Honored to be ranked #21 in Florida in the Rivals/Massey Ratings Preseason Top 25.

It's an honor, but rankings don't win games. Back to work. We've got a lot to prove.

Thank you to everyone who supports this program. IS A SPECIAL PLACE!

If you plan to attend and haven’t signed up yet please sign up today to help with our planning. This is a great opportunity to get lots of reps before upcoming MS tryouts or just to try volleyball for the first time. We will split them between courts based on their level and provide plenty of 1on1 instruction from Choctaw coaches and players.

CHOCTAW FOOTBALL: Fresh off a breakthrough year that included the program’s first Final Four appearance since 2014 before falling to eventual state champion American Heritage, the Indians are here to stay and look poised for another deep November run.

“It was a big deal, but last year and every year are different,” Choctaw Head Coach Frank Beasley said. “We’ll keep trying to build our football team and build off the success of last year’s team.”

With that said, here are five storylines surrounding Choctaw heading into the season to include:

- Bull’s-eye on the back
- A quarterback battle
- The ground game
- Defense is here to stay
- A proving schedule

"PRETTY SPECIAL": This year’s MLB All-Star Game will feature a point of pride for the local area.

Bryan Baker, a former Choctaw baseball player and Tampa Bay Rays relief pitcher, was named to the American League All-Star roster and will participate in the MLB All-Star Game on July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

“Making the All-Star team is definitely a surprise, but I’m extremely honored to get the opportunity and to share the experience with my family,” Baker told reporter Travis Espy.

Baker was born and raised in Fort Walton Beach and attended Choctawhatchee High School, where he was a member of the Class of 2013. He played both basketball and baseball for the Indians, developing into the team’s staff ace, with his best year at Choctaw coming during his senior season in 2013.

“My time at Choctaw helped me gain experience in multiple sports and the opportunity to play against good high school competition in order to get better,” Baker said.

His favorite memory from his time as an Indian? A 19-strikeout game against Fort Walton Beach High School.

“It is pretty special to be the first athlete in the area to make an All-Star team,” Baker said, “especially from an area with so many good athletes.”

CHOCTAW ALUM: This year’s MLB All-Star Game will feature a point of pride for Fort Walton Beach.

Baker was drafted in the 40th round of the 2013 MLB draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates but chose not to sign, instead opting to play college baseball at the University of North Florida.

In July 2025, Baker was traded to the Rays, and this season he is in the midst of a breakout year as Tampa Bay’s closer.
