Even though school is out for the summer, there are many opportunities for Choctaw students to stay involved in athletics.
All rising 9thโ€“12th grade student-athletes must have a completed athletic packet uploaded to Athletic Clearance and be cleared before participating in any athletic activities. Every student-athlete should be approved for the 2026โ€“2027 school year.
Parents may use a current physical completed during the 2025โ€“2026 school year and upload it to Athletic Clearance for the upcoming school year.
Please review the links below for important information regarding the athletic clearance process. We hope everyone has a safe, enjoyable, and active summer!

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: When Choctaw senior Brendan Cutler crossed the finish line at the Class 3A state championships on May 8, he didnโ€™t immediately realize he had broken the school record in the 800 meters. It wasnโ€™t until he was walking toward the podium that it clicked.

Cutler ran a 1:51.87, breaking the previous school record of 1:52.59 and finishing just 0.47 seconds behind the state champion. The time capped a four-year journey that saw him go from a 2:16 as a freshman to one of the fastest 800 runners in the state.

โ€œThereโ€™s no really no better way to go out than with a PR and a school record,โ€ Cutler said.

Cutler will graduate Thursday and head to Ohio State University in the fall, where he plans to major in sports management and try to walk on with the track and field program. Our Okaloosa Gas Athlete of the Week...
