You don’t have to knock over every domino.

You just have to start with the first one.

Big changes can feel overwhelming when we’re staring at everything that needs to happen.

So make it smaller.

What’s your first domino?

This week’s challenge: Choose one thing you’ve been wanting to change, identify the smallest action that gets it moving, and do it.

Don’t worry about domino #10.

Knock over #1.

Maybe we need to add one small word to our vocabulary:

YET.

“I can’t do it.”

Becomes…

“I can’t do it YET.”

It doesn’t mean it’ll be easy. It doesn’t mean it’ll happen tomorrow.

It simply means we’re leaving room to grow.

This week’s challenge, and I’m doing this one too/ Catch yourself saying “I can’t,” and add YET, and take one small step forward.

We are excited for the 3rd Annual OKI Fest this year 👊🏼

We talk a lot about working harder.

Maybe this Labor Day, we should talk about resting well, too.

Rest isn’t laziness. It’s part of recovery, growth, and being able to show up again tomorrow.

So here’s your challenge for Labor Day Weekend:

Give yourself permission to slow down without feeling guilty about it.

Sometimes becoming 1% better means knowing when to stop pushing and recharge.

A thermometer reacts to the temperature.

A thermostat helps set it. 🌡️

The same can be true about the attitude and energy we bring into the spaces around us.

This week, don’t just read the room:
Help Set It.

This weekend I traded being the Sensei for being the student again.

No matter how experienced we become, there is always more to learn.

Stay curious. Stay humble. Stay teachable.

Sometimes growth begins with two simple words:
Teach Me.

We spend a lot of time trying to move faster.

Sometimes we need to stop and make sure we’re actually moving in the right direction.

Speed doesn’t matter if the destination isn’t where you want to go.

Take five minutes this week and ask yourself: Where am I headed?

七転び八起き
Nanakorobi Yaoki

Fall down seven times. Get up eight.

Resilience isn’t about never falling. It’s about refusing to let a setback become your stopping point.

What’s one step you can take this week to get back up?
