Through our FREE Super Kids program, we partner with local schools, preschools, daycares, and community organizations to reinforce focus, respect, self-control, and self-protection.

We bring the instructors and tailor the program to your group, supporting the skills your teachers are already working hard to build!

Part 4: Why Martial Arts Helps Kids Become Bully-Resistant
No class makes a child “bully-proof,” but martial arts builds the traits that make kids harder targets and better leaders.
• Confidence you earn. Every belt is proof that effort pays off.
• Self-control. A 2023 study in Archives of Budo found that martial arts practitioners had higher self-control and lower aggression and bullying than non-practitioners.
• Assertiveness without aggression. Kids learn to stay calm, set boundaries, and de-escalate first.
• Respect and belonging. A supportive class gives kids friends and trusted adults outside school.
Parents notice too. In one survey of martial arts parents, self-defense and anti-bullying skills, confidence, and self-control were the top three reasons for enrolling their children.

Part 3: Talking With Your Child’s School
If your child is being bullied, you should never feel afraid to call the school. Parents should never be afraid to report bullying and ask for help.
1. Write it down. Keep a written record of each incident your child reports: who was involved, where and when it happened, and what happened.
2. Start with the right person. Most concerns can be addressed with the classroom teacher, school counselor, or building administrator. Check the district’s anti-bullying policy for its reporting process.
3. Be specific and calm. Share your notes and ask what the school will do and how it will follow up.
4. Escalate if needed. If nothing changes, go to the principal, then the district.
Stay in partnership with the school. You’re working toward the same goal: a safe child.
