A reminder that Reiki is love in action. 💚
I train in the gym so that things I want to do in my life are easier. I've traded most of the heavier lifts that I used to do for more functional training. Here, functional training let's me do things with more ease such as, tackling my own remodeling projects, pulling gear when hunting, and go thrifting with my thrifting buddies, aka daughter's 1, 2, and 3 💜💕💚.

Each day I wake up is the youngest I will ever be and tomorrow is never a given. I usually make no new year resolutions because I've never been one to wait for the new year to go after anything that I want. Patience has never been a virtue I possess. If there is any goal or want worth the time and effort, I go after it. But with that being said, I do know many people make new year resolutions, and if you're one of them, and you need accountability and help achieving your physical goals, reach out. Already this year I've filled 4 of my 6 spots that are open. After I reach this goal, my books will be closed until another spot opens, or I decide I want to work more. 😊
Tired of doing the same old thing over and over or are you overwhelmed with where to start? I have 5 slots open for one on one personal training. Half hour or hour sessions available 😊💪🏼

Celebrated my 49th birthday last weekend! I'm not sad about my age, but feel so grateful to be healthy, active, and have the people I have in my life. We hiked 8 miles one day and spent the other days eating great food at and relaxing at the cabin for a long, connective, beautiful weekend. 💚

The past few days I've felt my sparkle dull a bit. So, instead of going to the gym, I focused on the Tejas Mudra to find and grow brilliance in my heart and being. As I was meditating, one of my feline shadows, Mina, meowed and reached out her paw for me to hold it 🖤. She knew what I needed.
During my meditation I called upon the four directions and the elements/animals/ideas that they represent to me. From the East I gave thanks for new beginnings, this new day. South for fire, (which is always some form of transformation, today being melancholy to zest and vivaciousness) and youth. From the West, my emotions, water, red and orange colors, and where my power animal, jaguar, resides. North grants wisdom from the ones that came before me and that love me. I could dive deep on this and say so much more, but will just end with gratitude, deep gratitude, is a real blessing and is so powerful.
After some movement and singing, I put my big girl pants on, a hat, and my beads. Then away I went, off to work, with a little more pep in my step than I had to start off with. 💚

A few of my goals for the first half of the year:
✅️ Some beach time
✅️ Continuing education classes for my National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Training Certification
✅️ Adopt another cat
☑️ Add 3 new clients to my schedule. Either in the gym or at home clients. I'm opening my books for July now!
So now that vacation time is done and we've added another cat to our household, it was time to get serious and study to get my recertification. This year I chose 2 classes to better educate myself on what is relevant to many of my clients and myself.
I chose:
Drugs for Weight Loss by NASM
Menopause 2.0 course by Dr. Stacy Sims
I've had many of my client ask about or tell me that they started a GIP or GLP-1 medication for weight loss. I've heard differing opinions, but wanted something other than opinions to offer in response. I wanted facts and that is where this class came in.
Also, a number of my clients are women who are feeling the effects of perimenopause, menopause, and post menopause. It's not surprising that many clients that turned towards GIP or GLP-1 's are the women in one of the three stages of menopause. They are seeing what the hormonal fluctuations are doing to their bodies. Fat gain, skin changes, joint aches, and pains, declining cognitive function, etc. These are just a few of many symptoms of hormonal fluctuations.
Being almost 49, I, personally, experience many of these and it can be incredibly disheartening. Some women are able to embrace this change or are not as affected as others (kudos!!). If you ask me, I think it's fu***ng s**t show. When I think it can't or surely won't get worse, it does. I have been on hormone replacement therapy or menopause hormone therapy for awhile and it has helped quite a bit with certain symptoms, namely mood, sleep, and the appearance of crepey skin on my hands and neck. The issues with sleep has been huge, I haven't slept this good for years.
I took this class not just for my clients but for myself too! Now it is time to add more clients to my schedule. If I can be of service or answer any questions, don't hesitate to get a hold of me!
