Middle school can be brutal.
We don't say that to scare parents.
We say it because we've worked with kids this age for years, and we've seen how much can change during those few short years.
Friendships change.
Kids become much more aware of what other people think about them.
They compare themselves to everyone around them.
Some kids suddenly become very confident.
Others start questioning everything about themselves.
And unfortunately, teasing, exclusion, rumors, social pressure and bullying can become a very real part of their world.
For a kid who doesn't feel confident about who they are yet, middle school can be especially difficult.

“My child doesn’t really have a thing.”

We hear versions of this from parents.

They’ve tried sports.

Clubs.

Activities.

Nothing really stuck.

Then they walk into Reveal.

At first, martial arts is simply something new to try.

Then they learn someone’s name.

They earn their first stripe.

An instructor tells them, “Great job.”

Someone asks if they’re coming to class tomorrow.

They earn another belt.
