How time flies- what year did everyone meet đź’ž Brooke?
Four years ago Andrew walked into our gym looking for a consult with Brooke.
He told us he was searching for something really simple:
An LGBTQ friendly gym.
He saw that here… and decided to give us a shot.
Since then we’ve had the privilege of watching the evolution of Andrew.
Stronger.
More confident.
Fully stepping into the badass human he is.
Moments like this remind us what this place is really about.
Not just lifting weights.
But building a space where people can be themselves and get strong as hell doing it.
Andrew- we’re lucky to know you. Thank you for being you and thank you for being here🖤
only has one more spring break before she graduates 👏🏼
Most people think they know how to swing a kettlebell… until they learn how to hinge.
Start behind the bell.
Soft knees.
Push the hips back.
Arms are just hooks.
It’s not a squat. It’s not a reverse squat.
It’s a hinge.
Drive the hips.
Russian swing- chest to chin height.
Let gravity work.
Timing comes. Power comes.
But it all starts with the hinge.
Strong doesntt have one look. It doesn’t have one age. It doesn’t have one body type. And it sure af doesn’t have one personality.
This is just a glimpse of the women who walk through our doors.
Moms. Students. Museum gals. Book nerds. Business owners. Nurses. Coaches. Quiet grinders. Loud hype girls. First-timers. Veterans.
Different backgrounds.
Different stories.
Same standard: show up and get better.
They lift heavy.
They take up space.
They spot each other.
They clap for each other.
They come back again.
If you’ve ever felt intimidated walking into a gym- this is your reminder that strength belongs to you, too.
Shoutout to the absolute kickass women who make this place what it is. I see em and I’m so proud of them.

This is what it’s about. Not perfection.
Not ego. Not who can lift the most.
It’s about someone standing next to you saying,
“Hey- try this.”
“Shift your weight here.”
“Chest up.”
“Let’s run it again.”
No shaming.
No superiority.
Just real-time feedback, patience, and reps.
You can literally see it in this clip- guidance first, adjustments second… and then it clicks. That last rep? Earned.
At our gym, we don’t tear people down for needing support. We build eachother up.
That’s community. That’s coaching. That’s how you get strong.

I always appreciate this about Gregg. He doesn’t call it personal training. He calls it coaching.
Because the goal isn’t for you to need him forever.
It’s for you to understand what you’re doing and why you’re doing it- so you can eventually feed yourself.
In this clip he’s explaining how to brace. Not just “tighten your core,” but how to breathe, how to build pressure, how to become a pillar of steel instead of a pillar of sand.
As someone who learns by understanding the why… this scratches an itch in my brain I didn’t know I had.
And if you know me as a nurse, you know I’m the same way. I could make things complicated. I don’t. I break them down until they make sense.
There’s nothing wrong with slowing down and learning the skill.
This is the first of a few videos where he’s breaking movements down like this- because strength isn’t just lifting.
It’s understanding.
Waiting until you feel “ready” keeps a lot of people stuck. If you’re looking for a sign to get started, this is it ✨
Please help us wish a happy birthday if you see him today 🫡

Intimidation doesn’t mean you don’t belong. It usually means you care and you’re trying something new. That’s what matters to us here- you showed up 🫶🏼👏🏼
Coaches think in weeks and months, not single workouts. Listening to your coach are following a program as a form of trusting the process. Your coach is looking at the whole forest for you, so you can focus on the trees. Trust.
