Tomorrow is the big day!!! As we gear up for our upcoming dance recital, here are some helpful tips to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience:

Pre-Show Preparation:
- Purchase your tickets to the show. They will be emailed directly to you. (Check your spam)
- Purchase your copy of the recital video. This will allow you to enjoy the show and not be in the way of the videographer’s recording.
- Pack Early: Get your bag ready ahead of time with costumes, shoes, and extra supplies.
- Stay Focused: Aim for a good night’s sleep before the big day. View the recital as a celebration of their hard work, rather than a test!

Organization Tips:
- Double-Check Your Gear: Lay out your costumes (& Steam them!), tights, shoes, and accessories well in advance. Don’t forget to include backups like hair ties, bobby pins, safety pins, and double-sided tape.
- Label Your Items: Write your name inside your shoes, on costume tags, and accessories. Everything is the same! This will help ensure you get your belongings back in the busy backstage environment.

The Night Before & Day of the Recital:
- Rest Well: Prioritize a good night’s sleep before the show.
- Eat Smart: Have a light, energy-boosting snack like dried fruit, nuts, or yogurt before performing, but avoid heavy meals that might cause discomfort.
- Plan for Waiting: Bring quiet activities for downtime backstage, such as coloring books, card games, or sketch pads.

Mental & Physical Readiness for Your Dancer:
- Warm Up: Gently warm up your body from head to toe with ankle rotations, knee bends, and leg stretches.
- Manage Nerves: It’s normal to feel nervous! Reframe those feelings as excitement and take deep breaths to help center your focus.
- Trust Your Training: Don’t stress over choreography right before going on stage. Trust in your preparation and enjoy the moment!

As we wrap up another fantastic season, we want to remind you to purchase your recital video! This is a wonderful opportunity to relive those unforgettable moments and celebrate your dancer’s hard work and dedication.

The recital video captures all the performances, emotions, and excitement from the stage. It’s a keepsake that your family will cherish for years to come.

Don’t let these precious memories slip away!

🌟 It’s Recital Week! 🌟

This is the last week of classes for Season 3! ☹️

🗓️ Recital Details:
- Date: This Friday
- Time: 6:30 PM (doors will open at 6:00 for seating)
- Location: Truett Auditorium at SW Baptist Theology Seminary (just a few minutes away from the studio)

🩷Recital Tees & Tights:
Did you order a tshirt or tights? They are at the front desk. Please pick them up as soon as possible. Dancers may wear recital tees to dress rehearsal Friday!

🎟️ Ticket Reminder:
Everyone who needs a seat will need to buy a ticket.

📦 Drop Off Times:
- 3:30 PM for solos
- 4:00 PM for all other dancers
- 5:30 PM for Fairytale & PreBJT
*Dancers should arrive in tights with full hair and makeup. They may wear their recital tshirt and shorts or whatever they wish to wear until it’s time to slip costumes on.

💄 Makeup:
All dancers should wear stage makeup: eye shadow, mascara, blush, and BRIGHT RED lipstick.

💇‍♀️ Hair:
Please use water, gel, hairspray, bun donuts, and everything needed to keep dancers’ hair in place. All dancers (except Fairytale and PreBJT) need a center part and a bun in the lower back of the head.

👗 Costumes:
Please steam costumes before the recital.

🍎 What to Bring:
Costumes/Hair piece (if applicable) in your labeled bag, correct shoes, snacks, water, things to do, and label EVERYTHING! Please encourage your dancer to put anything they take off directly in their garment bag. There are so many dancers and everything is the same!

📣 Practice:
Encourage dancers to practice as much as they can at home this week.

For any questions, refer to the recital tab on our website. If anyone ordered a different size costume, we need the wrong size returned ASAP!
