After the finish line, families can head to the Orange Zone to find each other, celebrate, and soak in the moment. Little runners, big smiles, and a whole lot of proud parents.

Training tip: the biggest mistake in an early training block is doing too much too soon. Build mileage gradually, add one easy run, and keep one rest day a week. Your February self will thank you. 🙌

Join us Saturday, December 5th for the 4th Annual Cowtown Candy Cane Walk/Run! We will start and finish at The Cowtown Marathon offices located at 3584 S. Hills Ave, Suite 21, Fort Worth, TX 76109

The evening walk/run starts at 5pm. You will enjoy walking or running through the neighborhood viewing the festive holiday lights along the way.

With your registration you will receive a long sleeve shirt and a festive finisher item. Music, hot chocolate, and snacks will be greeting you as you cross the finish line!

Every Cowtown runner is helping a kid in Fort Worth.

Since 2009, The Cowtown’s Children’s Activities for Life & Fitness (C.A.L.F.) Program has inspired kids across North Texas to fall in love with fitness. Each year, the program visits more than 100 schools to teach proper running techniques and share healthy lifestyle tips, including hydration, nutrition, and staying active. Through school grants, C.A.L.F. helps children from low-income families by providing properly fitted running shoes and affordable race entry fees.
Thanks to the C.A.L.F. Program, more than 65,000 children have achieved the milestone of completing a 5K over the past 17 years.

🎨 Calling all artists: design the Cowtown Marathon 50th Anniversary t-shirt!
In February 2028, the Cowtown turns 50. For half a century, this race has carried Fort Worth through the Stockyards, along the Trinity River, and through the heart of downtown. Now we need artwork worthy of the milestone.
Your design will be worn by thousands of runners and seen by volunteers and spectators all weekend long. It will also kick off a year-long countdown to the 2028 race.
💰 Prize: $2,850 for the winning design
📅 Deadline: November 15, 2026
🌎 Open to everyone
🖼️ Up to 4 entries per artist
Your design must include the year (2028), the race distances, and space for presenting sponsor information. Use 6 colors max and submit as a PDF or JPG. Digital concepts only. The winner will deliver final vector files.
Finalists will be chosen by the Cowtown board of directors, and the winner will be picked by public vote right here on our social channels. 🗳️

Calling all Cowtown dogs! 🐾 We're making the 2027 Dogs of Cowtown calendar, and we need your pup. Does your dog join you on training runs? Or supervise your recovery from the couch?
