Why do I do this to myself? 🤦‍♀️

Last year, we introduced “Advanced asana” at and had a lot of fun exploring new shapes and transitions. The word “advanced” can be intimidating so maybe think of it more as a “level up” or “elevated” class where there is an intelligent flow that leads into the peak posture or transition with plenty of space to explore and play. Even if you don’t get the pose THAT time, students still leave smiling and having learned something new about themselves and their yoga practice.

I’m teaching the first class of 2026 this Saturday, January 3rd at 11am. It will be a basic power vinyasa flow with ways to ELEVATE in every posture or sequence. This class is for everyone. Join me! Sign up online or just show up 10-15 mins before class.

15 years ago on this date, I posted on Facebook that I was getting ready to attend my very first hot yoga class and ask what tips folks had for me. I saw the usual - hydrate beforehand and don’t eat too soon before class. A few chides from close friends who knew of my aversion of being hot. They said I’d hate it. I thought I might hate it.

But I was looking for… something. Recently divorced, moved back to north Texas but in a new-to-me city, and trying to make friends. About to start grad school while working a couple of part-time jobs. Trying to figure out who I was or who I was becoming.

Hindsight is 20/20 but it’s safe to say this yoga class changed my life. I walked out, drenched (because I was wearing cotton yoga pants - the horror!), and said, “sign me up.” I began a regular yoga practice that led to teacher training 9 years later and has grown me in ways I could never have imagined. Made a whole slew of friends and teacher mentors I’d never have met otherwise. Thank you to every single one of you.

Comment below if you’ve been around me in a class these last 15 years! I think then I’ll begin to see the true impact of this practice and the community it builds. Love you all and hope to see you soon (preferably on the mat!). 💚

Join me this Saturday, December 20th, at 11am for Advanced Asana where we will work on mermaid pose and king pigeon with lots of variations. Don’t be intimidated by the name, the class is really more like yoga recess - we come to learn and have fun! Anyone can attend - register ahead or just show up! See you then! 💚

Howdy everybody! I apologize for not staying on top of my monthly posts about classes. I still have, generally, the same schedule so if you ever need a reminder, save this post!

Outside of this, I’ll post on stories any additional events or when I’m subbing in a class. You can also check stories for potential cancellations due to weather.

Yep, we’re still offering donation based yoga at the Trailhead every Thursday at 6pm. As long as it’s not soggy or actively raining, or below 55°, yoga is ON!

is stepping in this week for me. She’s amazing, you don’t want to miss this class! Bring your mat, friends and your $$$. The average donation is $15/person.

Fall is finally here. Are you easing in or steamrolling into the season? For me, the weeks and weekends are flying by at a staggering pace. My days filled with getting everyone out the door, school drop offs, work and new projects, pickups, meals, shopping, planning, life… 😵‍💫

There hasn’t been much time for ME. So, you may notice I dropped one weekday class which hopefully means you’ll see me on my mat or my family will get a little more of me. It’ll be a daily battle to see which wins out. 💪

Grace under pressure. Comfort in the discomfort. It’s all part of the practice that makes us more resilient on and off the mat. 😅
