20 years of marriage today—and one thing I’m especially proud of is this:
We didn’t just build a life together.
We built two careers—side by side.
There were seasons when one of us accelerated while the other held steady.
Moments when we had to renegotiate roles, take risks, or bet on each other’s potential.
And plenty of times when “balance” looked more like intentional trade-offs than perfection.
Dual-career partnerships don’t happen by accident. They require:
• Honest conversations about ambition and priorities
• Flexibility as goals evolve
• A willingness to take turns leading and supporting
• And a deep belief that there’s room for both people to grow
This is something I see often in my work with high-performing leaders—especially women who are navigating big career moves while also investing in their relationships.
It’s not always easy.
But it is possible to build a career you love and a partnership that grows with you.
20 years in—and we’re still building! 💖

Only one thing at the Portobello Road market in London caught my eye. both wrote and illustrated her book. Every morning my son reads me one of her quotes and we admire her art. We see ourselves in her work, and we are so grateful. Please take a moment to follow her.

I find that recognition doesn’t have to be big, but it does need to be meaningful. Like a personal note on a card like the one in the photo.
