Moving to a new state has its bumps in the road, but my family is so thankful for Grapevine Faith 🙌🏽 Cristi Garcia & I are blessed to have had parents of the program embrace us as family & help us all year long! Thank you coach Matt Sayman for taking a chance on me 🙏🏽
I had the honor & privilege to coach these young men. This was my 10th year as a coach & it could not have been more special! These boys taught me a new level of RESPECT, how to play with COURAGE, & most importantly how to STAY HUMBLE & HUNGRY.
Yes we won a lot of games, but the GROWTH of these boys was INCREDIBLE! Any challenge I gave them, they attacked it with so much INTENSITY. This team was a perfect refreshing start to my Texas coaching career! 🫶🏽 I love my DUDES!
Shout out to coach Wes Hill for helping me through this first year journey! Basketball brings like minded people together, even though we grew up in different places, thankful for you bro!

Happy Birthday to My Daughter!!! Elianna Rae, you have been a true gift from God. Being our miracle baby, we are so blessed to have you in our lives! You bring this world so much JOY! You have the best mama in & watching you guys interact together brightens my day! ADVENTURE is out there for the Garcia’s! New home, new job, new team, new dreams & new experiences. One of the toughest weeks of my life! The fear of leaving an INCREDIBLE COMMUNITY is crazy but the fear of leaving my small group students after going through so much together is even tougher. BUT GOD, gave me some confidence not only in my boys but in myself! This student conference has shown me that God can use anyone no matter their past. I’m so proud of MY SQUAD THO!!! These high school boys have BOUGHT IN to their Faith journey & have made BREAKTHROUGH AFTER BREAKTHROUGH! I couldn’t have had a better week of loving on these boys & watching them grow closer to each other & Jesus 🫶🏽🙏🏽

About Coach Hoze
My name is Jose "Coach Hoze" Garcia & basketball will always be a part of my life. Playing ball helped me develop life long relationships & learn life lessons. Born & raised in Los Angeles, California, I started my basketball career at 9 years old by playing on my 1st AAU travel team. I continued playing through High School, then 2 years at a Junior College, & then 2 years at Greenville University in Illinois (NCAA Div. 3).
During my playing career I learned many valuable lessons, but one of the most important lessons is how to be self-motivated. If you can learn self-motivation, then your goals in life seem a little easier to achieve. With over 8+ years as a Skills Development Trainer & over 3+ years coaching High School & AAU, my experiences taught me that building relationships is just as important as getting buckets. I've trained players at the middle school, high school, & college level but my willingness to learn will never stop. The more I learn how to be a better coach, the more I can share with the younger generations.
My goal is to train the next generation of basketball players how to play the game the right way with fundamentals, hard-work, character & ethics.
