Discipline Is a Force Multiplier
The effectiveness of the Greek defense was largely due to the discipline of its soldiers, especially the Spartans. Fighting in the phalanx formation required precise coordination, trust, and the ability to maintain formation under extreme pressure. Unlike less organized forces, the Greeks did not fight as individuals but as a unified unit.
