A page for students, parents, and community members to learn more about the Boswell Color Guard.
The Boswell Color Guard operates as an integral part of the Boswell Band of Gold Marching Band. The color guard adds art, pageantry, and a high level of athleticism to the fall marching program. The BOG performs as one unit at all home and away football games as well as a number of competitions throughout the fall season. The BOG has a long history of success including numerous selections to the s
tate marching competition, the highest honor for marching bands in the state. In 2013, the BOG traveled to the state marching contest and placed 12th out of the entire state for the 4A classification. In 2014, the Boswell Color Guard earned the Outstanding Color Guard award at the US Bands Competition in Burleson, TX. In the winter, the guard rehearses and performs separate from the band in an activity called winter guard. The 2014 winter guard season was very successful for the Boswell Winter Guard and included a 2nd place trophy, a 3rd place trophy, a promotion to a higher competitive classification, a division I rating at every competition, and a superb 4th place finish at NTCA Championships. The 2014 program was entitled "Mother Earth" with music by Imogen Heap. In 2015, the Boswell Winter Guard earned a 3rd place trophy and placed 6th in Scholastic A at the NTCA Championships. The 2015 program was entitled "Rhapsody in the Rain" with music by George Gershwin. The Boswell Color Guard program is under the direction of Ryan Luu, experienced educator, performer, and choreographer. For more information on the team, visit the Color Guard page on the BOG website.
