I haven’t done any post in a while mainly because of time. This has been the busiest year we have ever had. Taking care of 6 to 9 cars a week for a few people after regular work which means long evenings at the shop. T55 Motorsports is not possible without all the work from Mark Manning, Damon Burdette, and Mitchell Thompson. After all was said and done Mitchell ended up with his 5th straight track championship at Anderson. That was not the most impressive thing he did at the track this year. It was mentoring 3 new drivers that had never raced a Legends car before, two that had never even been involved in racing of any kind.Dawson McClellan drove the T55 rental car this year and did a great job for his first year in a Legends car learning a lot about racing and finishing 7th in points. Zach Cameron in his first year of racing ended up 9th in points. Bryce Butterworth is another that had never been involved in racing and ended up 14th on a part time schedule. In the master side of T5( Motorsports Cory Parham came in really strong at the end of the year and ended up 4th in the points. Damon Burdette who didn’t run all the points races this year ended up 27th and Eric Mentnech ended up 22nd on a part time schedule. T55 wants to thank all the drivers and teams for trusting us to help with your season. We helped a lot of other cars and drivers through the year and seen a ton of growth in the Legends series at Anderson with 67 different drivers coming through Anderson this year.

Good luck to all the guys headed to Anderson tonight. I am in Cooperstown NY coaching ball today. I don’t miss many races I will be watching on Facebook live at least our game is at 5:30 so should be able to watch the main anyway.

The busiest week we have had all year by far. We worked at the shop until 11 or 12 about every night to make sure everything was ready for Friday night. We took 6 cars from the shop to the track with and did the prep work on two other cars including a mid week motor change. I want to thank Skinny, Damon, David Northcutt and Mitchell for all the help. With a field of 22 cars it is so tough now that we do heat races off a computer draw. When you get to start 10th or worse in a heat and you get 6 laps that’s not much time to move. But I have always liked heat races but it is tough some weeks when you have to start in the back. The field has gotten bigger this year and the mid pack lap times have moved from running 17.50’s to 17.20’s and 30’s. So with that said here is the results for T55 this week.

There was 18 cars this week at Anderson in the legends the class is growing with a lot of young talent and just new drivers to the sport which is great to see when all across Motorsports classes are going down in car count. The competition is getting better every week when looking at lap times for main event the fastest lap of the race for the top 13 cars was separated by 3 tenths of a second. Fastest lap being a 16.972 to 17.298 from 5th to 13th only being separated by .052 really close for local racing.

It was a busy week with practice on Thursday, Friday, and the race on Saturday. With two cars practicing on Thursday 4 cars practicing on Friday and 6 cars racing out of shop on Saturday. A lot of people see Mitchell on the track doing well this year but no one really sees how hard he works in the pits at giving advice to drivers and going over data to try and make them better. He helps the guys that race out of our shop which most people can understand but also gives advice to anyone that stops by the trailer. Legends racers back in the 90’s and early 2000’s it was like this. Battled hard on the track and helped each other when they were in the pits. When I got back into legends 7 years ago it was different no one shared Knowles helped other teams. I am glad to see it’s going back to like it was at least a little. When a car has a problem on the track in the race there are several people helping get those cars back out from multiple teams.

Race recap for this week at Anderson Motor Speedway. It’s been a year of change at Anderson with heat races this year so it jumbles up the cars with different speeds. For the most part heat races have been really clean this year and but it has been a challenge try to manage bad draws but hopefully the fans like it. This week Damon ended up starting p15 and finished p13. Zach started p9 and got up to p6 before getting into the walk late and ending up p14. Dawson started p14 and got his first top 5 of his young legend car season. Cory had a fast car starting p5 and getting to p4 before getting wrecked on lap 5. Mitchell started p8 and worked his way to the lead after dodging a few wrecks and went on to win. Big shout out to Eric Mentnech on starting p18 and finishing p8 to pick up his first Masters division win. We want to thank all sponsors that’s in evolved with getting us to and from the track with the cost of everything and I mean everything going up racing is tough not only for the racers but the fans as well. We appreciate the help and all the fans that support racing.

Race recap from Friday night. Started off rough with electrical issues on Zach’s car which we never really got fixed. Wasn’t because of effort we literally changed everything then a battery issue on the start of the heat for Dawson. All that said Zach couldn’t finish with the electrical issues and Dawson after having to start 14th in the main had a good race and finished p8 in a good field of race cars. Damon started p12 and finished p15. Cory started p10 and finished p11. Mitchell started p2 and after a really competitive race with Carson Youngblood for most of the race Mitchell ended up with the win after pretty much a month off with the birth of his son Walker. Mitchell’s wife Caitlin and Walker came down after the race for a victory lane photo. We had a ton of cars come through the pits with flat tires bent bumpers that we got back into the race some with cars we work on and some with other teams where we helped get them back in the race. Not sure how many divisions actually help there competition get back in the show but we do what we can. For the fans out there take notice of some of these kids out in the legends class that are getting good. All 16 or younger Dawson McClellan, Carson Youngblood, Kasen Barrett, Bryce Butterworth, Noah Barrett, Hudson Barrett, Edison Carter and Grayson Pendley. It’s starting to remind me a little of the late 90’s when there was some up and coming kids coming through. Like Jonathan Davenport, David Reagan, Reed Sorensen, and Chris Buscher that came through these ranks and fan here at Anderson some.

Race recap for Friday April 17th at Anderson Motor Speedway. Mitchell was absent on the night with the baby due date being Saturday. (Still no baby) but we had Dawson McClellan, Bryce Butterworth, Zach Cameron, Damon Burdette and Cory Parham there along with the other cars we support at the track so we had a busy night. Dawson strayed p6 and ended up in an accident on lap 3 we got him back out to finish p10. Zach started p11 and finished p9. Bryce got in cloves in an accident on lap 2 that ended his night early. Cory started p3 and got to p2 early but ended up p4. Damon started p14 and ended up p13. Shout out to Carson Youngblood on his first overall main win at Anderson. The class is really building at Anderson with some really good youngsters coming on.
