CONFINDENCE

Shock yourself!!

As y'all know Chris and Erica just sold their blessed and beloved coffee shop after over six years of serving "The Golden Strip".

And let me tell y'all something...

When he started in the coffee business, Chris was about as lost as a yankee at a "Grits Convention".

He could barely change a light bulb let alone fix anything.

But over those six years due to necessity and cheapness He slowly began to shock himself.

Sometimes literally!!!! OUCH!!!!

And here's what's shocking....

HE ACTUALLY LEARNED TO TURN A WRENCH!

List of things he fixed multiple times....
1) Espresso Machine
2) Ice Machine
3) Sandwich Prep Station
4) Commercial Fridge
5) Ice Cream Freezer
6) Toaster Oven
7) Microwave (Only once) (It was scary.)

Never say, "I can't" say, "I don't know how but I am going to trust my creator to show me how".

Consistency

What does it mean?
What does it look like?
What does it feel like?
How does it work?

Consistency isn't about doing. It's about becoming. The question that matters and, really, the question most worthy of exploration is this. Am I becoming the kind of person who accomplishes what God has put in my heart to accomplish?

Don't think I want to write a book. Think this. God has uniquely called me to be an author.

Don't think I want to get in shape. Think I am a fit person who does fit people things.

Don't think I want a better marriage. Think God has called and commanded me to be a good husband or wife and I will do what what great husbands/wives do.

Don't think I want to start a business. Think I am an entrepreneur.

And YES you are going to have days, weeks, months and sometimes years and dare I say even decades where who you are is laying dormant but remember this. "A righteous person falls 7 times but get's up 8". And, yes, falling involves stand up. Get back up and step into who God created you to be and become the Misfit Disciple you are.

Your inner voice is shaping your life every single day.

Some of us say things to ourselves that we’d never dream of saying to a friend, a spouse, or one of our children. We replay failures, magnify weaknesses, and believe lies that slowly steal our joy.

Stop.

If you wouldn’t let someone else speak to a person you love that way, don’t speak to yourself that way either.

Your worth isn’t determined by your performance.
It isn’t measured by your popularity.
It isn’t decided by your past.

Your value was settled at the cross.

Jesus didn’t die for the worthless.

So monitor your self-talk. Replace condemnation with truth. Stop chasing the approval of people who can’t define your value anyway.

You don’t need everyone’s acceptance.
You need to remember whose you are.

Walk like someone who knows their worth.

🚨 NOW HIRING: FRIEND 🚨

Position: Friend
Company: Misfit Disciple
Salary: Truth. Loyalty. Growth. Eternal dividends.

We’re no longer accepting applications from yes people.

We’re looking for the rare kind of friend who loves God and loves people enough to say:

“No. Don’t do that.”
“Yes. You should absolutely pursue that.”
“That’s not who you are.”
“You’re made for more than this.”
“I believe in you too much to let you settle.”

The world has plenty of people willing to clap while you drift. We need people willing to lovingly interrupt your self-destruction, challenge your blind spots, celebrate your calling, and tell you the truth even when it’s uncomfortable.

“Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.”
Proverbs 27:6 (ESV)

Real friends don’t flatter.
Real friends don’t pacify.
Real friends don’t help you become a polished version of someone you’re not.

They help you become who God created you to be.

At Misfit Disciple, we’re building a community where truth is an act of love, “no” can be a gift, and authenticity matters more than approval.

If you’re looking for people who will always agree with you, keep scrolling.

If you’re looking for people who love you enough to tell you the truth… welcome home.

Identity

Our identity isn’t something the world gets to vote on.

Every day, there are voices trying to redesign you.

Some tell you your worth is found in your success.
Others say it’s your failures.
Some want to label you by your politics, your past, your pain, your personality, or your popularity.

But none of them created you.

A painting doesn’t ask the crowd what it should become. It reflects the vision of the artist who made it.

You were fearfully and wonderfully made by God. He alone has the authority to define your purpose, your value, and your identity.

Don’t let culture sketch over what the Creator has already signed.
Don’t let fear erase what grace has written.
Don’t let approval become your architect.

The world manufactures copies.
Christ forms disciples.

Be a misfit to a culture that demands conformity, and a faithful disciple to the God who designed you.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:10

The Irreplaceable

Two screenshots. Less than twelve hours apart.

One announced that Senator Lindsey Graham had died.

The next was already asking, “Who will replace Lindsey Graham?”

Whether you admired him, disagreed with him, or barely followed politics, there’s a lesson here that’s bigger than politics.

Lindsey Graham’s résumé was remarkable. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives, represented South Carolina in the U.S. Senate for more than two decades, chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee, served on the Armed Services Committee, and became one of the most recognizable voices in American politics. His career touched history in ways few ever will.

Yet by the next morning, the conversation had already shifted from his life to his replacement.

That’s the nature of power.

Someone else will eventually sit in every office. Someone else will sign your emails. Someone else will lead your team. Someone else will own your business.

You are replaceable at work.

But you are not replaceable at home.

Your children only get one dad or one mom.

Your spouse only gets one you.

Your friends only get your laugh, your stories, your quirks, your strange sense of humor, your late-night phone calls, your encouragement.

Your church only gets your unique gifts.

And before God, there has never been another person exactly like you.

So stop trying to become a copy of someone else’s success.

Be who God created you to be. Weird and warts and all. The world doesn’t need another polished imitation. It needs the original God designed.

Invest deeply where it matters most.

Love your family well.

Show up for your community.

Walk faithfully with Christ.

Because when the titles disappear and the headlines fade, those relationships will still echo into eternity.

A brief tribute

Rest in peace, Senator Lindsey Graham. Thank you for decades of public service to South Carolina and the nation. May God comfort those who loved you, grant wisdom to those who now carry public responsibility, and remind all of us that a life is measured by far more than the office we hold. “Well done” is a far greater commendation than “Senator.” 💙✝️

Freedom starts at the right door.

Every one of us walks through the same door when it comes to the opinions of other people. The compliments come through it. The criticism comes through it too.

If you build your identity on applause, you’ll be crushed by rejection. If you live for acceptance, you’ll always be afraid of disapproval.

At Misfit Disciple, we’re not here to help you win everyone’s approval. We’re here to help set you free from needing it.

The opinion that matters most isn’t the crowd’s opinion of you—it’s your opinion of yourself, rooted in what you believe about God and who He says you are.

Ask yourself:
• Am I being authentic?
• Am I walking in obedience to my loving Creator?
• Am I becoming the person God created me to be?

If the answer is yes, then keep walking. Keep growing. Keep serving. Keep loving.

Don’t let someone else’s compliments define you.
Don’t let someone else’s criticism destroy you.
Both entered through the same door.

Jesus didn’t call you to be popular.
He called you to be faithful.

Be the misfit.
Be free.
Be who God created you to be.

Misfit Disciple
Freedom from the opinions of others.
Freedom to become who God created you to be.

🇺🇸 We’re Looking for July 5th People 🇺🇸

Everybody loves the July 4th moment.

The fireworks.
The celebration.
The bold declaration.
The courageous decision.

But history isn’t changed by one day.

It’s changed by the people who wake up on July 5th and keep going.

We’re looking for the men and women who don’t just make emotional decisions—they build lives of faithful obedience.

The ones who keep showing up when the excitement wears off.

When the consequences of change become real.

When life gets messy.

When relationships change.

When the cost is higher than expected.

When the pressure comes.

When the battle gets hard.

Those are the people who transform families, communities, and nations.

Freedom wasn’t preserved because someone signed a document. It was preserved because generations of ordinary people were willing to sacrifice, persevere, build, and stand firm.

The same is true in the Kingdom of God.

A prayer at an altar is powerful.

A decision to follow Jesus is life-changing.

But disciples are made on July 5th—when we choose, day after day, to trust God, obey His Word, repent, grow, serve, forgive, persevere, and keep marching forward in faith.

God is our Protector.

God is our Provider.

His ways are always better than ours.

So don’t just be a July 4th Christian with a great testimony about one big moment.

Be a July 5th disciple whose everyday faithfulness changes generations.

At Misfit Disciple, we’re not just looking for people who make bold decisions.

We’re looking for people who let God transform them every single day—because changed people change families, changed families change communities, and changed communities can change a country.

Are you a July 5th person?

The world has enough polished personalities and empty success stories.
We exist for the people who never quite fit the system.
The entrepreneurs with scars.
The leaders with doubts.
The creatives with restless hearts.
The believers who ask hard questions.

We believe purpose is often born in struggle.
We believe calling is bigger than credentials.
We believe faith should build things — businesses, families, communities, ministries, and legacies.

This is not coaching for spectators.
This is for builders.
For visionaries.
For misfits.
For disciples.
