October is a special month in Franklin Park that brings our community together year after year. The 48th Annual Eddie Biondo Fall Fest Parade kicks off Oct 4th at 1:00 PM, filling the streets with familiar faces, festive floats, marching bands, local schools, and plenty of fall spirit.

Then, as the parade wraps up, the celebration continues at North Park with our much-loved Pumpkin Fest from 2:00–4:00 PM. From picking out and decorating pumpkins to enjoying games, inflatables, and time with family and neighbors, it’s a full afternoon of the traditions that make fall in Franklin Park so special. Join us on October 4th and celebrate two beloved community traditions, together in one festive afternoon!

As we say goodbye to summer and welcome the first hints of fall, we’re reflecting on a season filled with so many special memories.

We celebrated our last Park Party of the summer, while also welcoming so many exciting firsts like the first day of skating lessons, the first day of our Early Childhood Program, and the first adult trip of the season to the Anderson Japanese Garden.

With every new beginning comes a few goodbyes, and there are plenty of both on the horizon. But that’s the beautiful thing about this time of year. As one season comes to a close, another opens the door to new experiences.

Browse our programs at fpparks.org and sign up for a fall full of opportunities to learn, play, connect, and make memories together!

And don’t miss our final Chalk the Park of the Summer on September 21 at Championship Park from 5:30–7:00 PM. Come help us send off summer in colorful style!
