There’s something EXTRA special about celebrating female athletes. Why?? Because many of us didn’t grow up seeing women celebrated for being strong, powerful, competitive, and unapologetically athletic. In fact, years ago, it often felt like being the odd one out to walk in the shoes of a young female athlete.
Women like Diana Taurasi didn’t just become incredible athletes….they helped redefine what it looks like to be a woman in sports. They showed girls that they can take up space, compete fiercely, lead, fail, get back up, and become LEGENDS in their own right.
And now we get to watch a new generation grow up seeing that being a strong female athlete isn’t something to hide. That strength is something to celebrate and be proud of.
This is exactly why I doubled down to make sure the gym I created gives EVERY woman the opportunity to experience the wonders of being an athlete.
Not just the women who played sports in high school or college. Not just the women who can run a 5K. Not just the women who already feel strong and confident in a gym. Every woman that walks through the door. All of them!
Because being an athlete isn’t about a certain body, age, speed, strength level, or skill set. It’s about discovering what your body is capable of. It’s about getting stronger. It’s about pushing yourself. It’s about learning to trust yourself. It’s about feeling powerful in your own skin.
Maybe your “athlete” looks like lifting your first heavy weight. Maybe it’s doing your first push-up. Maybe it’s chasing your grandkids without getting winded. Maybe it’s walking into the gym at 50 and realizing, Holy crap… I’m actually getting STRONG.
I believe there is an athlete inside every woman. My team and I have made it our mission to help you find her.
The magic of being an athlete isn’t reserved for the elite. It’s for ALL of us and it’s one of the best feelings in the world once you find it.
Last night reminded me why celebrating women like Diana Taurasi is so very important.
