Update #3: We knew Damian’s matches today would be tough. His first match this morning was against a known opponent, but he wasn’t able to pull off the win. This closes out his season. We have no doubt he will be back again next year. Stay tuned!

Update #2: Damian went up against a ranked opponent and pinned him in the 2nd period. He is finished for today and will compete again starting bright and early tomorrow. One match at a time is the only way to a medal!

Update: Damian put up a hard fight against the returning state champion but after 5 minutes he lost by tech-fall. He gets to try again though.

The battle starts now. Damian has some tough matches ahead of him today. Only the best of the state make it this far. Damian is already a winner to have made it this far. Good luck, Damian! You make us proud to be a Wildcat!

Today Damian King represented Polk County High School at Sectionals that were held at Stone Memorial High School. Damian faced 7 others in his weight bracket who were all trying to qualify for State. He successfully placed 4th in the 126 # weight class securing his ticket to the State Wrestling Championship next weekend in Franklin, TN. Way to go, Damian! 

Polk County was represented well today at Greenback High School for boys Regions. We brought 6 to compete and we have 1 advancing to Sectionals. Damian King placed 2nd in 126 # weight class. Next Saturday he will take on 7 others to try and secure his spot at State!
