With Chukkers For Charity just around the corner, excitement is building both on and off the polo field! While our riders, horses, and volunteers are busy preparing for an extraordinary event, we want to take a moment to shine a light on the incredible partners who make it all reality.

With their support, Chukkers for Charity supports the life-changing programs at Rochelle Center and Saddle Up!, making a real, lasting impact for adults with developmental disabilities and children benefitting from equine-assisted therapies.

With temperatures rising again, many lessons this week shifted to unmounted work. Riders spent time learning about horse anatomy and breeds, enjoyed doing groundwork including leading and horsemanship, and also practiced horse bathing and healthcare.

Thanks to the volunteers and families for their flexibility this week! Keeping our horses and riders safe is always our top priority. We are grateful for everyone's patience and willingness to adapt.

Chukkers For Charity is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year! We are excited to celebrate this annual event with our community on Saturday, September 12.

Thirty years of high-scoring charity polo has been made possible because of generous sponsors, our supportive donor community, the Chukkers for Charity Committee and an amazing roster of polo players who make the day exciting! All of these contributions power life-changing programs at Rochelle Center and Saddle Up!, making a real, lasting impact for adults with developmental disabilities and children benefitting from equine-assisted therapies.

A huge thank you to the fantastic group of Belmont University Occupational Therapy graduate students who joined us at the farm for their Annual Day of Service.

Every year, the future OT professionals bring incredible energy, heart, and dedication to our mission, and this visit was no exception. Saddle Up! therapist Sandra Z provided this group with a great program overview, which inspired this hardworking crew. They accomplished a massive amount of farm maintenance in just one day.

We are deeply grateful for the 25 Belmont University volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to complete 75 Total Service Hours which supported our community. They tackled fall session prep projects including: scrubbing and organizing groom boxes, deep-cleaning the lobby play area, and weeding flower beds so our facility is fresh and ready for upcoming lessons.

A big thank you to Belmont for their ongoing partnership and for the OT students' commitment to supporting adaptive riding and therapy. Thank you for helping us keep Saddle Up! beautiful, safe, and ready to welcome our riders back for Fall!
