The Portugal 2026 Cycling Tour begins:

Terceira Island - Azores
Had a walking tour planned through Angro do Hermosa; the main area on the island.
Mother Nature intervened, and it rained buckets! Our guide turned it into a fun jeep tour, drive-by, with a few stop-and-go stops. We initially planned to spend the afternoon relaxing at the beautiful pool. Instead, our guide took us on another tour of the local lava tubes and lava chimney.
Dinner tonight offers a stunning view of crashing waves and the rain.
The Azores are also known for their rich milk and tasty cheese! Today, on our way to the lava tubes, we were stuck in a traffic jam because the cows wanted to be milked. They know where the milking station is, and when it's time—twice a day—they head home and line up at the milking station. There are four cows per person on the Azores.
