I am so grateful for this tender moment documented in image. A number of tender layers stirred under the surface for me in this photo session, and when we came to this Mother Tree and I leaned in, the support gave those layers permission to move through as tears.
This is what I anticipate for our upcoming event - 🌱Tending Our Grief: Grief Ritual & Community Gathering at Morris Orchard Natural Burial on October 3🌱
I anticipate the support of the elder chestnut tree grove giving us permission to let down and let go.
I have found myself very focused on resourcing lately. In somatics, resourcing is turning our awareness to what is nourishing, steady, centering, grounding… whatever is supportive.
Part of this I believe is my own chapter being on a fertility journey and helping my body feel supported to bring a new life into the world, but another layer is that I am seeing it in most of my clients too. A sense of people generally being under-resourced right now. (Yet also under-grieving).
The magic that I’ve found about resourcing is that it doesn’t necessarily take us away from processing what is hard. If we’re open to it, resourcing can in fact open the door into feeling what is hard organically from a supported place.
Feeling what is hard without support tends to feel isolating, scary, flooding.
Feeling what is hard from a supported place tends to feel healing.
That’s what happened here in this moment with the Mother Tree. The pain came forward in the form of beautiful tears and an opening heart only when the support was available.
I am loving the grief spaces I’ve held in nature. It feels like the most organic medicine, to call upon the support of nature in our healing.
Hope to see you there. Link in bio to sign up.
Thank you Amanda Lucia | 🌈Embodiment Photographer for this supportive photography experience ❤️🙏
