MMPAC is thrilled to welcome alumni, Anna Thompson and slowdanger to the studio this Saturday, October 3rd!

They will be hosting masterclass’s for MMPAC’s pre-professional team, FX!

10-11am will be an exciting workshop on Improvisation. 11am-12pm will be an hour full of fun with LIVEWIRE Music Production!

Our FX team is so excited and we cannot wait to see what they get out of this opportunity!

Co-founded in 2013 by co-artistic directors and life partners anna thompson and taylor knight, slowdanger is a multidisciplinary performance entity creating experiences at the intersection of  contemporary performance, electronic music, technology, and ontological centering. Together, they activate a process entitled ‘queer world building’, creating co-collaborative performance ecosystems where movement, sound, and environment operate as interdependent architectures. Their process positions technology as a structural and dramaturgical force, revealing invisible forces acting upon the body and destabilizing the performance world in its relationship to performers and the audience. From directing music videos to scoring a play, slowdanger transforms its shape to adapt to a variety of different containers. slowdanger’s performances have been featured internationally in venues ranging from proscenium theaters and galleries to nightclubs and dive bars. Their work has been presented by Carnegie Museum of Art, Usine C, Dance Place, The Warhol Museum, and more. slowdanger was one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” (https://www.dancemagazine.com/25-to-watch-slowdanger/) and has been supported by The Foundation for Contemporary Arts, NPN Creation Fund, New Music USA, New England Foundation for the Arts, The Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, and more. Their upcoming work, STORY BALET, premieres in September 2026 at the Eisemann Center and will tour throughout 2027-2028 to Kelly Strayhorn Theater and Texas A&M.
