☝️ Crazy squib yesterday during one of our classes, experienced by a P3 student.

Squibs are relatively rare, but they happen—which is why we emphasize being intimately familiar with your firearm and recognizing when something feels wrong.

This was a brand-new Staccato 2011® HD P4 4.5 using factory ammunition. The projectile traveled almost exactly halfway down the barrel, making this about as close to a worst-case scenario as you can get.

A slow or unusual impulse, a lower-than-normal report, or anything that simply feels off should be a red flag.

Thankfully, the shooter recognized the issue immediately. Had they not, the outcome could have been far more consequential.

Training, muscle memory, and situational awareness matter. This is exactly why we train.
