Chicken Noodle Soup 🥣
There’s a reason why they call chicken soup
”Jewish penicillin “ … Jewish philosopher & physician Maimonides used chicken broth to nourish pregnant woman ,relieve colds, asthma & even leprosy. There has been much evidence over time to support his prescription .As chicken cooks it releases an amino acid resembling properties in medicine used to treat bronchitis .The garlic & onions contain a range of photochemicals that have antibiotic , anti fungal & health protective properties .
So when my 24 yr old said he was feeling under the weather I whipped up a quick batch . Now this isn’t the usual way I make chicken soup however it did the trick . Firstly I always have cooked shredded chicken on hand . I make a big batch of it in the slow cooker & then eat it all week . I throw it in salads , tacos , my son adds it to his eggs in the morning & in this case I used it for quick soup .
Recipe
Chopped finely :garlic ,onion & carrot
Sautéed in a pat of butter or oil till soft.
Add a box of organic chicken broth
Add seasonings :salt , pepper , garlic & onion powder
Add pre cooked chicken
Add 1 tablespoon of tomato sauce
Reduce & simmer
I like to boil my noodles separatelycook them & add to soup but you can boil them right in the soup if you like .
Combine all ingredients & serve

Chickpea gluten free snack bites !!
We love snacks , especially ones that do not have refined sugar or gluten. This recipe was inspired by who encourages you to use the ingredients you have on hand. I was running low on coconut oil and I didn’t have maple syrup, so I improvised. Don’t be afraid to experiment with ingredients because anything that contains Whole Foods and it’s not process is a 10 out 10 in our book ! This is a treat the whole family will enjoy . Try them out for yourself and let us know how you like them.
Recipe:
2 eggs
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1/3 cup coconut sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
pinch of salt
Half a cup of oats
1/3 cup almond flour
1/3 cup coconut milk
One can of rinsed chickpeas
1/3 cup chocolate chips
Mix together
Heat 350 for aprox 15 min
Enjoy
Truth is we can’t stop talking about food while we workout out ! Lucky for us and are only a few doors down . Here we are with owner Mike post workout . Mike makes all of his items from scratch , he uses locally grown veggies and bakes his own bakery goods . Tatchens has amazing soups , sandwiches , salads with homemade dressings & fresh bread and cookies baked daily . Today we stopped in for soup . Mike graciously lets us sample everything , today he had summer squash , Thai peanut , asparagus fennel , beer and cheese and a cold blueberry rosemary which was to die for .
