Bingo Fishing Charters

Today the fishing community lost one of its finest. Rob Dietrich was a man who ate, slept and **** fishing. As a mate on my charter boat he treated every fillet as if it were his own. As a fisherman he never wanted to “call it a day” whether the boat was skunked or if the box was full. Regardless of any situation he was always the optimist that somehow would balance out a crew during an unfortunate sequence of events. May your soul rest easy my friend as you are now at peace. Although we never got to enjoy fishing together in the “post charter” era, I will always cherish the experiences we shared on the water and the conversations we shared.

As we approach the end of another holiday season I want to start out by wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a happy/healthy new year. With that said I figured I would post an update for the coming season as people have reached out regarding booking dates for next year. As with anything in life, all good things come to an end. After much deliberation, I've decided to stop running charters upon the end of 2019 and move the boat east, closer to home. Ultimately, I want to get my kids more involved and that’s hard when I'm at the Coimbra, 50+ miles offshore three times a week.

I can't thank all of you that have sailed with me enough. Some of you have been here since day one twelve years ago. That says a lot. What started as something to keep me busy during the summer turned into a full-fledged business that has thrived in a climate of horrible regulations and shifting stocks.

With that said, I will be running one more split blackfish charter this coming Sunday 12/22 on the last day of the season. I have posted it on the Bingo Fishing Charters page as well. 6am sail, $140pp, white and green crabs included. Give me a call if interested 631-495-1786.

Busy couple of days on the bingo. Yesterday we had Austin and friends out for some sharking. First bite was this 157 thresher (weighed at teds fishing station).

Today we had Gabriel and his son out for some bluefin fishing. The morning troll took longer than usual to develop but when they turned on our limit was done in a few hours time. Big fish went 53”.

Stayed overnight on the bluefin grounds Saturday and tried to chunk some larger fish. Had a 53” fish around 3am. Back up on troll at dawn we quickly landed our three under fish. The am troll was red hot. Once we had our limit we ran in and wreck hopped for a bunch of ling and Seabass to round out the catch
