Fremont Spartans Lacrosse

At age 51, of all the things I thought might hurt/kill me, a stroke wasn’t on my radar. Strokes can have a devastating impact physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Fortunately, physically I’m a and as I returned Monday from playing in the Hawaii Lacrosse Tournament tournament, I can’t help but revel in how blessed I’ve been in the physical recovery department. Even though not as serious as some, my stroke wreaked havoc in my life over the past 18 months. I’ve needed every bit of the support I’ve received from God, family, friends, therapists, doctors, etc just to make it through. I’ve learned a ton about strokes and I continue to discover incredible support & awareness groups, like Champion The Challenges & Pacific Stroke Association. And that “World Stroke Day” exists. (It was yesterday). So I’m spreading the word about strokes and some great support organizations. If you want to support, volunteer, or donate to a stroke cause, they would be a great place to start.

So proud of our local players, representing while playing for at the US Box Nationals tourney! Many who have played only one or two PARTIAL seasons of any lacrosse. They faced bigger, stronger, more experienced teams all weekend and never backed down, never got intimidated! Awesome opportunity to get great lacrosse experience and to grow their game! And nice having our Spartans crew coaching and running doors
