Mission Peak Spartans

Hey Spartans,

We hope everyone had great races in Monterey. Now that the weekend is done, we wanted to provide an update on the current status of MPS.

Last week the district shut us down unexpectedly due to permit issues. We are actively working with the district to get these issues resolved, and will update everyone when we have a path forward.

In the mean time, we’re working on finding interim solutions and a temporary location to allow you to still get your obstacle training in. Because we don’t have a definitive timeline yet, we’ve taken everything off the schedule and frozen all recurring charges. We don’t want anyone to continue paying for a service we can’t currently provide.

We’ve also been contacted by some of you asking how you can help. First, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Right now we’re in a holding pattern, but if a situation presents itself where you can help us out, we will let everyone know.

Thanks again for your support, and we hope to be back out on the course with you all again soon. ❤️

Tonight’s (4/21) open course and and strength and agility class have been cancelled due to weather. We hope to see you all back out on the course this weekend!

Running the Oracle Park Stadion race? This is your last weekend to come out and train on our special “Stadion Edition” course of the day!

Coaches will be on hand from 10am-12pm to answer questions, show obstacle techniques, and maybe even help you avoid some burpees on race day.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Weather update for this weekend.

Saturday 10/23: Weather looks clear, we are planning on being open for normal hours from 8am to 12pm.

Sunday 10/24: It’s supposed to rain all day. As a result, we are currently cancelling our Sunday session.

If Sunday’s forecast changes, we will re-evaluate and update everyone here. Thanks!

This one's a little delayed, but wanted to congratulate and thank everyone who came out to our Challenger Series event on 9/6/2021. We appreciate everyone who decided to spend some of their day off with us, and hope you all had an awesome time. 😎

A special Congrats to everyone who earned a spot on our Challenger Series board by ranking in the top 5 per category!

- Dave Hung: Earned 2nd place in men's rope climb, 1st place in the men's heavy carry, 2nd place in the men's spear throw, and 1st place in the mini-gauntlet.
- Monica Vega: Took over 1st place in women's spear throw.
- Patty Phe-chin Ho: Earned 1st place in the women's mini gauntlet, 5th place in the women's spear throw, and earned a three way tie for third place in the women's tire flip.
- Yamina Hakem: Tied for 3rd place in women's rope climb, 4th place in the women's spear throw, and 1st place in the women's heavy carry.
- Marilynn Cornel: Earned 2nd place in the women's heavy carry.
- Natalie Hung: Earned 3rd Place in the women's heavy carry, and tied for 2nd place in the women's mini gauntlet.
- Susan Arcilla: Earned 4th Place in the women's heavy carry.
- Maria Torres: Tied for 4th place in the women's spear throw.
- Natalie Villasenor: Took over 1st place in the women's tire flip.
- Tina W: Earned 5th overall in women's mini gauntlet.
- Tracy C: Tied for 3rd in women's tire flip.
- Jessi S: Tied for 3rd in women's tire flip.
