Don’t put the topwater rods away just because fall is here.
As the water cools, these are three presentations I keep ready:
• Berkley topwater — Great for covering water and finding aggressive fish.
• Frog — Break it out around grass and heavier cover where other topwaters struggle.
• Swim jig — When they won’t fully commit on top, work the same area just below the surface.
Fall fishing is all about reading what the fish are telling you and changing your presentation.
