From the bottom of my heart, I want to express my deepest gratitude to all of my clients, mentors, coaches, colleagues, gym buddies, accountability pals, family, and friends who have supported me throughout my time with creating and building Sportiff Training. It has been, and continues to be, a privilege to be trusted as a personal trainer and mentor. Seeing all of your achievements, struggles, ah-ha moments, milestones, pauses, and life changing experiences - as a coach and cheerleader - has been an honor. Thank you for allowing me to be apart of your journey. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 🤍

Did you know that the exercise push to pull ratio for optimal function and performance is 1:3? That means for every push movement you do, you should be doing three pull movements.
General population tends to gravitate towards push movements because they’re the aesthetically appealing ones to work - chest, quads, shoulders, etc - which majority of them are on your anterior (front) side of your body.
Glutes, back, hammies, etc are on the posterior (back) side and are often neglected because they’re our big, “lazy” muscles, so it takes more effort, concentration, warm up, volume, and time to work them. If you build the posterior chain, you build the athlete. Plus, having a nice back side will not only get you some looks, it’ll keep you moving, with ease, for longer.
One way to play with adding more pull movements into your workouts is by alternating a pull day and a push day instead of doing workouts by body part. Have at it.

Personal trainer red flag 🚩: they guilt trip you with the saying of “everyone has 24 hours”. As the time constraint of a day being 24 hours is true, the application and intent to impact is not true.
Some things that might impact your day-to-day are your non-negotiables, and to have a personal trainer tell you that the time you have with your kids in the morning to get them out the door for school before you go to work is less important than you attending a session with them… is bogus.
Find a personal trainer who supports and works with you, not against you.

From noises, to too many people, to being perceived… I get it. It can definitely be challenging to show up due to internal disregulation and external factors that may put your system into fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. For many, it takes SO MUCH to do the “simple” or “easy” when it comes to gym time. Please be kind.

If you were ever in doubt
Don’t sell yourself short, you might be bulletproof
Hard to move mountains when you’re paralyzed
But you gotta try
So I’m calling out
Get up, get up
Get a move on
Get up, get up
What’s taking so long?
Get up, get up
Get a move on
Stop stalling, I’m calling out
Get up, get up
Get a move on
Get up, get up
Ain’t nothing wrong
‘Cause I believe you can be whatever
And I agree you can do much better, trust me

Friendly reminder to lift heavy s**t. Love me some yoga, Pilates, spin, dance fitness, etc. - they are so fun and definitely have wonderful benefits while involving community and sense of belonging. In addition to those awesome group fitness classes, remember resistance training requires you to pick up and put down relatively HEAVY weight.

There’s lots of symbolism with waves. What are some of your favorites?

Prioritize recovery... and performance will follow.
Similar to "your best offense is a good defense;" you'll perform at your best when you have recovered optimally.

I get these questions a lot from interested parties, so! I figured to make the answers a little more user-friendly and accessible. Hope this helps!
