--- Shinbukan: A Samurai Family Legacy ---
Kuroda Yasumasa Sensei is the current 16th Soke (Headmaster) of the Shinbukan Kuroda Dojo. His father, Kuroda Tetsuzan, was the Soke of several ancient Samurai military disciplines dating back to the 16th century.
Kuroda Tetsuzan Sensei designated his son, Kuroda Yasuma, as the successor in 2022. Sadly, Kuroda Tetsuzan (O-Sensei) passed away in 2024.
As the eldest son of Kuroda Tetsuzan, Yasumasa Sensei began his training in early childhood, representing the latest generation of a lineage that dates back five centuries to Kamiizumi Ise no kami Nobutsuna, who is famous for creating the Shinkage-ryu school of combat.
The late Kuroda Tetsuzan Sensei inherited this knowledge through his family line learning from his grandfather, Kuroda Yasuji, and his father, Kuroda Shigeki, becoming the 15th headmaster of the Kuroda family martial legacy "Shinbukan Kuroda Bujutsu".
Kuroda Yasumasa Sensei is the primary teacher and ultimate authority of the Shinbukan Kuroda Ryugi, which consists of five classical martial arts (Koryu):
• Komagawa Kaishin-ryu Kenjutsu (Swordsmanship)
• Tamiya-ryu Iaijutsu (Art of drawing the sword)
• Shishin-Takuma-ryu Jujutsu (Unarmed combat)
• Tsubaki-Kotengu-ryu Bojutsu (Staff arts)
• Seigyoku-Oguri-ryu Sakkatsujutsu (Pressure point and resuscitation)
