After working with countless married couples over the past 25 years, I can tell you that spouses say one of the hardest things is continuing to love well when you don’t feel loved well.
It seems to go against everything that's "right" and "fair."
Spouses may not say this out loud (at first), but they start thinking: “Why should I keep trying if YOU aren’t?”
And little by little, love becomes conditional.
Not intentionally.
Just gradually.
You stop reaching.
Stop initiating.
Stop speaking their love language because yours doesn’t seem to matter to them anymore.
I think that’s where a lot of emotional distance begins.
it's typically not one BIG moment, rather continual disappointments that slowly turn into withdrawal.
That’s part of what I’m going to be talking about in a new 5-week guided experience called: After the Love Is Gone
We’re going to talk honestly about:
- emotional disconnect
- limiting stories
- resentment
- covenant
- and what it looks like to love intentionally when marriage feels hard
If that resonates with you, you can learn more here:

What happens when your love language isn’t being spoken?

What happens when your spouse isn’t speaking your love language?
Do you:
– stop trying?
– pull back emotionally?
– begin keeping score?
Most marriages don’t fall apart overnight.
They slowly drift into disappointment, resentment, emotional distance, and limiting stories about each other.
And often, it begins with a story:
“They don’t care.”
“Why should I keep trying?”
“Nothing ever changes.”
But what if the future of your marriage is shaped less by your feelings…
and more by the source you choose to live from?
This is exactly what I’m going to be exploring in a new 5-week guided experience called:
After the Love Is Gone
A practical, faith-centered journey through emotional disconnect, covenant, limiting stories, and intentional love.
If you’ve ever struggled to keep loving well when connection feels inconsistent, this is for you.
