Meet Janet, she reminds us to stop making excuses and start making it happen šŸ’Ŗ

She started training with us a year ago…. In a wheelchair.

Now she’s upgraded to a cane and tossing around 10lb medicine balls like nobody’s business!

We started brick and barbell with the belief that everyone has an opportunity to make progress, feel stronger, and improve their fitness.

Thank you Janet for inspiring us all!

Meet Stephanie & Gary šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

If you’re a busy parent who feels like there’s never enough time to prioritize your own fitness, their story is for you!

Brick & Barbell was built to make fitness fit into real life, even in the busy season. While James is in karate, Stephanie & Gary get to work on their own health, strength, and goals šŸ’Ŗ

Here’s what Stephanie had to say about joining Brick & Barbell:

ā€œGary and I are both full-time working parents. It feels really hard to juggle that routine while also having a little one, so we were struggling with our fitness goals initially because we didn’t have a system.

We are so glad we found Brick & Barbell because it enables us to have a system that works with our complicated schedules.

We enrolled our little one in karate classes, and the gym is right next door with flexible scheduling, so we’re not tied to a Monday/Wednesday schedule or a Tuesday/Thursday schedule. We found a place that allows us to live the reality of life, which is needing adaptability while wanting to maintain discipline and consistency.

We have the goal of going to the gym together twice a week and taking classes twice a week as well. It allows us a space where both Gary and I can work out together, which gets us into a better place physically and mentally to be better and stronger parents. It also allows James to go to his karate class and build his own discipline.

We like doing it together because we feel more energized, and we feel more motivated to pursue that fitness goal together as a household.

It’s also energizing to see our little one look at us and say, ā€œI want to be strong like Mom or Papa,ā€ and be proud of the example that we’re giving him.

Having discipline is hard, and not having discipline is also hard, so we decided to choose our hard and find the alternative that works with our lifestyle.

We used to say we were too busy, but that was a choice too. Now we have the flexibility to go when our schedule allows while still keeping to our goals.ā€œ

Thank you for inspiring others with your encouraging mindset and consistency Stephanie and Gary! We love having you here at Brick & Barbell šŸ«¶šŸ¼

Meet Jen!!šŸ’Ŗ

She’s coming up on 1 year since starting her journey and she’s DOWN 71 POUNDS!!! šŸ”„ such an amazing accomplishment!

When she first started, her main goal was fat loss. But aling the way her goals started to shift, and now her goal is STRENGTH

She’s no longer afraid of lifting weights, and one of her favorite parts of class is seeing what the main lift is that day and challenging herself to get better at it. And the confidence she’s building inside the gym has translated to daily life too!

She’s trying different workout classes, taking on harder hikes, climbing rocks, walking across logs; things she used to hold herself back from because she didn’t feel strong enough to do them.

That’s the kind of progress we LOVE to see here at Brick & Barbell. Confidence and progress that translates to daily life!

Shes lost weight and along with that has gained strength, confidence, willingness to try new things and a whole community of people she’s built connections with along the way 🩷

In her words, she’s feeling strong, confident, SEXY šŸ”„ and more open to creating bonds both inside and outside of the gym.

71 lbs down, stronger than ever and just getting started!! Let’s go Jen!! We love having you here at Brick & Barbell šŸ˜

Losing weight is great. Losing strength with it? Not great.

If you’re on a GLP-1, strength training matters even more because you want to protect the muscle, confidence, and capability that help you feel good in your body.

Don’t just get lighter.

Get stronger.
