Coach Johnson made up some awesome stickers for us to rock on the back of our helmets the rest of the season. Krisjon is a former FVMS Bengal, and we are going to honor him with these to let him know he's on our minds and our hearts while he's recovering. Love you, Krisjon, and Go Bengals!

The FVMS Football team improved to 2-1 on the season with a dominant 20-0 win over Lufkin Road Middle School. Thank you to ALL who came out to support on what turned out to be an amazing afternoon, and a special thank you to our AMAZING Cheer Squad!
Strong running by Lucas Sellers and Kamari Johnson aided by great blocking by the O Line got the Bengals moving on the first drive. Jace Winston came in at quarterback in the red zone, and it took him two carries to find the end zone to give FVMS an early 6-0 cushion.
Strong play by the Bengal d-line and linebackers kept Lufkin in long downs and distances all day, and when FVMS got the ball back, Jace threw a dime to KO Durant for what would've been a majestic touchdown pass down the left sideline. Unfortunately the score was called back due to penalty, but Jace made up for it later with a perfect throw down the right sideline to Christian Rich, followed by a 20-yard touchdown run to the left as the 2nd quarter expired.
KO also snatched an interception on defense, and Jakob Giuliano followed up with a fumble recovery and interception of his own to seal the shutout for the Bengals. Kamari Johnson got loose for a LONG touchdown run in the final minutes to put the Lightning away.
It was a strong team effort for the Bengals, with great contributions across the board. Special shout-out to the offensive and defensive lines, who kept the line of scrimmage moving in the Bengals favor all day. The Bengal Chain Player of the Game was Jace Winston, for his timely passing and slashing runs when FVMS needed a spark.
The Bengals are back in action next Wednesday when they travel to West Lake Middle School for an away game against the Wildcats (4 pm start). Then, on 10/22, FVMS will host Herbert Akins at Fuquay-Varina High School under the lights! That game will start at approximately 6 pm, right after Girls Soccer and Volleyball finish up at FVHS as well. Go Bengals!!

The FVMS Football team is back in the win column after a 22-12 victory at Apex Middle last night. A great team effort moved the Bengals to 1-1 on the year heading into their first home game next week.
Kiaran Johnson and Jace Winston both took big snaps at QB all game long, and they each played an important part in the Bengals' first drive, resulting in a touchdown by RB/Guard Henry Hope and a 2-point conversion by RB Lucas Sellers. Jace threw a beautiful pass to KO Durant for a long gain on 4th down early in the drive, and Kiaran led the offense home.
On their first defensive drive, the Bengals got immediate pressure on the quarterback, and the defensive line quickly redeemed themselves from last week. Jacob Kimbro put pressure on the Apex QB, allowing for an interception by Corben Street, who took it to the house for a pick six! Corben also caught the 2-point conversion from Kiaran to take an early 16-0 lead.
Some adversity struck in the next two quarters, and the Bengals found themselves up just four points with a few minutes to play. Kiaran and Jace both orchestrated key plays from the QB position to extend the drive and milk the clock. Important runs by Lucas and Henry brought FVMS to the 10 yard line, where another great throw from Jace to Corben for a touchdown put the icing on the cake.
Huge shout-out to both the offensive AND defensive lines for dominating the line of scrimmage all game. Despite the adversity, the Bengals fought tough, and never relinquished their lead. David Laureano was an animal on both sides of the ball, making big blocks and huge tackles all game long. Henry Hope showed his dominance on both sides of the ball too. But it was Corben Street who won the Bengal Chain Player of the Game for his big tackle in open space, his touchdown and two-point conversion catches, and his interception for a touchdown. Congrats Corben!!
FVMS will look to build on this progress next week when they host Lufkin Road Middle at 4:00 on Wednesday 10/8 for our first home game of the year. The community came through again with more support for our program!
The amazing Amanda Mangum at Aspire Money Management in downtown Fuquay-Varina was generous enough to donate a considerable amount towards our goal of new shoulder pads for the FVMS Football Team.
We are now 60% of the way to our goal. We continue to be blessed and grateful for the outpouring of support for our awesome student-athletes. Thanks again, Amanda, for showing up and making a difference. We appreciate you! Go Bengals!!
