Had another great morning in the blind today with Erik Guerrero We had a couple gobbling off the limb a ways off at first light. We opted to stay put and called hoping to lure one in. At 7:03 two Jake’s came sauntering in and try to get lovey with Henrietta. When one of them got too handsy, Erik sent a hive of Tungsten Super Shot (TSS) to breakup the love triangle! The other Jake stayed around for about 5 minutes strutting and dancing around and we just sat back and watched the show. We were ecstatic to help get Erik his first turkey last year and couldn’t be more excited to get him on another today! Congratulations man!!

Had another great hunt this morning! James Brown brought his son Bryson and we hit the woods early! Yet again, nothing gobbled off the roost and we started walking by 8. Finally struck one bird, made a sit and silence.. walked a couple hundred more yards and struck another. We got set and he was thundering all the way in. When he got to 20 yards, he decided something wasn’t right and turnt and hightailed it out. We sat there and called for about 10 minutes just hoping he would look back, but to no avail. I leaned forward and happened to glance over my shoulder just as three jakes were crossing the bottom and headed straight for us. I sent a quick message to James for them to get ready and the jakes walked by me at about 8 yards. They paused behind some brush and James gave a couple reassuring clucks. The lead bird stretched up to get a good look at Henrietta and Bryson dropped the hammer on that 20 gauge. The TSS did its job and crumpled the bird at about 40 yards! Great shot Bryson and congratulations!! Thanks for a great morning guys!

We had an awesome day yesterday with Jason Senn and his son Caleb on the youth turkey hunt we donated to North Carolina Aim For A Cure
The day started off slow but quickly changed around 10:45 when the first of 5 longbeards sounded off! We had to do some quick thinking and running, but watching 4 redheads appear at 15 yards in the timber made it all worthwhile. Caleb made a great shot with .rice.tss and was able to get his first gobbler! 9-3/4” beard, 1 1/4” spurs. I was able to capture most of this incredible hunt on video for Chasin’ Wildlife TV and can’t wait for y’all to see it! They are an awesome father/son duo and an absolute pleasure to hunt with.
