Just one day later, he's found a new home.

Mayfield was claimed off of waivers by the Los Angeles Rams today and could suit up for Thursday's game against the Raiders.

49ers are signing QB Josh Johnson off the Broncos practice squad and on to their 53-man roster, per sources. During his 13 years in the NFL, Johnson has been a member of 14 different teams, the most for a player in league history. This will be his third stint with the 49ers. He also played in San Francisco in 2014, and 2020-2021.

Steelers’ RB Najee Harris (abdominal injury) has been downgraded to OUT.

49ers’ RB Elijah Mitchell is out 6-8 weeks with a knee sprain, per HC Kyle Shanahan.

Najee Harris - Concern is a hernia. That could mean surgery and shut down for the rest of the season, but with full return to form to start ‘23 season.
