Three great speakers tonight ahead of Arkansas. Go Gators!

Before the South Carolina game, the GTOC had another great meal and lineup of speakers.

Sean Kelly, “Voice of the Gators,” gave us some chalk-talk to relate how some of his calls of the game are keyed to certain spots on the court. Sean answered lots of great questions from the members

Trista Bukow, President of the 1,700 student strong, Rowdy Reptiles, gave a great overview of their activities, including camping out to get first dibs on seats for the games and the “dirt sheet” distributed before each game to coordinate the chants they use against the opposing team during the game. After you attend five games, you’re a Rowdy Reptile.

Graham Hall, Swamp247, gave us the scouting report on the Gamecocks, who are having a really tough season. We can expect a Gator win tonight.

As usual, Bill Bagley, did a find job with the raffle, allowing members to win gift cards and discounts at local restaurants and shops. The proceeds go to support the club’s scholarship fund in the UF Foundation

We were honored to welcome Jenny Rowland, head coach of Florida Gators Gymnastics, who shared an inside look at building a championship culture. Her passion for developing student-athletes on and off the floor is exactly what makes Gator athletics so special.

We also loved hearing from Bennett Anderson, former Gator player and team manager, who gave us a unique perspective on what it truly means to wear the Orange and Blue. From the locker room to life after basketball, his insights reminded us that the Gator standard goes far beyond game day.

Thank you to both of our speakers for spending the evening with us and to our incredible members for continuing to show up and support Florida Basketball at the highest level.

Go Gators.

Today, the Tip-off Club members got an early start with three great speakers, starting with Jordan Jacobson, who delivered a summary of the last three games and shed light on how the team adapts to varying refereeing crews. The rules about lane violations obviously were covered. Jeff Cardozo, former Gator pitcher and current baseball broadcaster, and host of Gator talk shows, told us some fun baseball stories, particularly about the hated Miami Hurricanes. Graham Hall, Swamp247, gave us his always excellent scouting report on the Alabama “Elephants,” and their come back to home pro center. Guess he now needs an education Graham likes the “chippy” media comments that have gone on prior to today’s game.

Tonight we had another great meal to enjoy from Palm and Pine Catering while we had speakers and some raffle winners. The guessing contest was back and we all entered our guesses for the number of shots the Gators would take against LSU and the number of offensive rebounds. Nolan Crist, Video Coordinator for the coaching staff, filled us in about how he breaks down video for the game. He’s also the guy who advices Coach Golden on when to appeal a ref’s call during the game. Split second decision-making. Mark Wise, broadcast analyst for ESPN, had and off week from work and gave us an overview of the SEC and how many teams stand to make the NCAA tournament. Last year was a huge year with 14 of 16. This year, maybe 10 or 11. Graham Hall, Swamp247, talked about the role Coach Carlin Hartman has played in helping Ruben Chinyelu in his improvement. There’s also word on the street that LSU’s excellent point guard, Dedan Thomas, Jr. , will be back for this game. He’s been out all of SEC play this season due to injury.

Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

The Gator Tip-Off Club has been incredibly fortunate to hear from some truly special voices recently. Current and former head coaches, legendary players, and program leaders who have shaped Florida Basketball and continue to pour into the next generation.

These conversations go beyond wins and losses. They’re about leadership, resilience, team culture, and what it really means to wear Orange and Blue. We’re thankful for the time, insight, and stories our speakers so generously shared with our members.

This is what makes the Tip-Off Club special. Access, connection, and a shared love for Gator Basketball.

Thank you for showing up, giving back, and reminding us why this program means so much. 🐊🏀
