Coach Steve brings a wealth of knowledge to the league after spending 13 years playing baseball at all youth levels. He then played softball for years after. Steve joined the PWCGSLL coaching ranks during the Fall 2025 season. When presented with the chance to share his teachings with the league, he jumped at the opportunity with the intention of making a difference.

Steve has a blast coaching and when asked what he enjoys about his experience as a coach, he said “I enjoy seeing the girls getting to know each other and having fun. These are the two things that start and make a good team. Teaching fundamentals and how to play at different positions, then watching them enhance their skills.”

PWCGSLL Coaches Spotlight!

Head Coach – Coach Cori

Team – Bandits (Minors), Blue Angels (Rookies), Cyclones 10U Travel

Coach Cori is entering her 4th season as a coach. Her previous experience stems from playing baseball until transitioning to softball where she excelled through high school. She continued to hone her skills through club involvement in college. Her call to coaching came when her daughter began playing and sought her moms experience in helping her learn the sport.

Cori loves nothing more than when one of the girls she coaches has a lightbulb moment.

“They see their hard work paying off, they get the hit or make the play or throw a great pitch. For me, it really is not about the game as much as it is about what it can teach our girls. Softball can provide inner confidence to a young player that is just trying to figure out who they are. They can put in hard work and visibly see those results in themselves and in their team. Then they put in the work to level up again.”

The league is lucky to have Coach Cori, Coach Paul, Coach Mike, and Coack Kat!

Coach Shaun joined PWCGSLL in 2024 as an assistant coach in the Minors. While initially unsure, he was bitten by the coaching bug when he saw an opportunity to make a difference within the community. With previous experience in baseball, Shaun is a believer in fundamentals and the small things that make big differences, having seen how they improved his individual skill set. He preaches the “Process over Outcome” approach and doing things the right way.

When asked about what he enjoys most about coaching, he said “I get to help young minds realize their limitless potential as individuals through a sport I love. It’s a bonus that I get to share each moment with my daughter. It’s also great that I have assistants, whom I consider co-leaders and parents that hold the same philosophy that I do. That emphasis on team culture and building a strong community is priceless."

PWCGSLL Coaches Spotlight!

Head Coach – Coach Stephanie
Assistant Coaches – Coach Frances, Coach James
Team – Hurricanes (Minors)

Coach Stephanie is beginning her second season with PWCGSLL; first in the Minors division. She previously spent a season coaching in the Rookies division, citing it initially being an opportunity to be involved with her daughters’ activities as it was her first season as well. Stephanie comes to the league with years of softball experience from both the rec and travel level.

Fully understanding and embracing what it means to be a mentor; she highlighted the importance of a coach’s role.

“I enjoy bonding with my daughter by doing something we both enjoy together. Equally rewarding is seeing how much it means to all of the girls on the team to have a role model who shows up for them every week.”

PWCGSLL Coaches Spotlight!

Coach Kim is beginning her 7th season as a coach. Having spent years playing from little league through college, Kim initially began coaching to be further involved with her kids’ experiences and give back to the sport she grew up loving. Having been a coach at many age levels, Kim embraces the role of leader, while always making time to learn every step of the way.

Community is important to Kim and keeps her moving forward with a smile on her face.

In her words, “watching girls encourage each other, celebrate each other’s successes, pick each other up after tough moments, and genuinely care for each other is incredibly rewarding. Softball is important, but the friendships, confidence, resilience, and memories they build along the way are what make coaching so special to me.”
