It's been a while since the last update! Derek still has his private workshop, but is now opening a retail space in town.

We are so excited to announce that Bike Dr. Derek, a boutique retail bike shop, is officially moving into its new home right in the heart of Downtown Alachua!

His mission is simple: Getting Alachua families moving. Whether you’re looking for a toddler’s first set of wheels, a comfortable neighborhood cruiser, or the perfect gift for the kids, we’re building a showroom designed for real life—not just the race track.

We’re moving into a cozy space in the center of town.

We’re looking for a local bike mechanic to work with us a few hours a week to train Derek’s support staff on bike repair. Give us a holler if you are qualified, interested and available!!!

Hello! It’s been a while. Derek is still here! 😃💪 He took a temporary hiatus from social media his first year at his new shop location in Alachua. Here it is!!! And now that he is finally settled in, we’re relocating to a larger space in Gainesville! 😆 This wasn’t in our plans, but we are helping Derek maneuver through unforeseen obstacles that are out of our control. That being said, Gainesville here we come!!! 🚴🏼‍♂️

This is Derek! Here’s his story:

Derek is a successful bike mechanic turned entrepreneur by the age of 17.

Oh yeah, and we didn’t forget to mention that he’s accomplished all this while living with autism, a limited speaking ability, and struggling with epilepsy. We just didn’t mention it first because, around here, we love focusing on the positive.
