One of the beautiful aspects of this martial art that we love is that technique can overcome age, gender, athletic prowess, strength, size, and physical advantages. Of course, this definitely becomes less true when dealing with another skilled practitioner, but it’s wonderful to know that as we continue to focus on our techniques, we can become equal to others that we otherwise might not be.

Similarly, happy Pride Month! — where we celebrate people who may live, think, or express themselves differently, but should be equally treasured, accepted, respected, and loved.

Today we remember and honor those who served and sacrificed for our wonderful country.
