A Message for the Fencing Community
Dear Fencing community,

Our team is not just a sports club, it's a family. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we have been limited in our capability to hold and attend tournaments as well as other events. As a result, we are humbly asking for donations during this holiday season. Any amount is extremely helpful and will go directly towards the club (equipment, future events, etc.). We thank you all for your continual support and generosity. We hope you all remain safe during these uncertain times!

To end the clubโs leadership spotlight series, I wanted to break the fourth wall (or, in this case, singular screen) and introduce myself. โฃ

My name is Alicia and I am the person managing the UF Fencing Clubโs social media platforms this year. I am a fourth year Visual Art Studies major, minoring in Art History and Chemistry, and I have previously served the club as President, Secretary, and Tournament Chair. โฃ

My favorite fencing memory is my first Temple Open back in 2017. Everyone was very supportive and encouraging even though I had just started fencing. It made me realize that the team was becoming a new home for my tiny freshman self. โฃ
โฃ
Some fun facts about me are that I used to play chess competitively, fantasy fiction novels are my guilty pleasure, and I tend to have a pair of headphones with me at all times. โฃ
