UF Running Club runs to greatness in their competition In 2011 a Running Club was formed at the University of Central Florida. The goal of it various but one thing remains the same and that's running.

Our runner club seniors this year have experienced a quick end to their season, and sadly have been spared with many of the end of the year events they may have been wishing for to celebrate their success. But from The Florida Running Club to you guys: We love you! We appreciate all of the hard work and dedication you’ve poured into this club, and it has not gone unnoticed. While we are thankful for every senior who has been in this club, we would like to give a special shoutout to this years officers. To the best president we could’ve asked for the past couple of years, , thank you for holding the club together and putting in hard work to make sure we run efficiently; we will miss you! To our Vice President, , you are welcoming and open to everyone you encounter and we are so thankful to have had your presence in our club. To our head coach, , we are so appreciative to have had someone so motivated to lead our workouts every day and provide all of the necessary information to our members. To our treasurer, Brian Cochran, we appreciate your willingness to consistently do things for other (like give rides and provide information) and your ability to be a kind spirit to other members. To our social coordinator, Kate Rose, we are so appreciative of your amazing ideas for social events and effort to include others in our events. And to all of the other seniors who have poured hours of dedication and love into the club, your effort has not gone unnoticed and we will miss you dearly. This year, we’re bringing back our weekly spotlight of our members. This week, we’re featuring Alexandra Quintana! Alexandra is a freshman studying International Studies (with a focus in Latin America). She was cross country captain for two years in high school and has been running since middle school. She says that the running club “is the perfect combination of a hobby and the bond of a team, without the pressure from coaches”. We’re so excited to have Ally in the club and look forward to all that she’ll accomplish this year!

First long run in the books for the Fall semester! Interested in joining this crew? Come out to our first general body meeting in Matherly 103 this Monday at 6:30pm!

Today was our first day of practice and we had a great turnout! So happy to see so many enthusiastic new (and returning) faces! See you from now on M-F 6:30PM and Saturday at 7AM!!

Only TWO MORE DAYS!! We are so excited for our first practice this coming Tuesday!! It will be held at 6:30pm at the James G. Pressly Stadium, and it will be an easy run!! Runners of all skill/experience levels are welcome! This club is a great way to make friends and a welcoming atmosphere that helps you explore Gainesville/ The University of Florida! We are sooo excited to see some new and returning faces on our first day of fall practice! Practice will begin Tuesday, August 20th at 6:30pm. We will meet at the James G. Pressly Stadium (pictured here). We welcome runners of any experience level, and foster a social atmosphere that is perfect for making friends! Practice will be held Monday-Friday at 6:30pm and Saturday at 7am (Tuesday time may change, but we will keep you posted!). Please DM us if you have any more questions, and we hope to see you out there:).
