Even though it is cold and snowy, we are looking forward to the 2022 season; and also the 1st float of the year! Our website is back up and running. Check our website at www.newskiesalaska.com for trip info and reservation information(just call us!). If you or someone you know is traveling in the area, don't forget that we provide shuttles, raft, and gear rentals....in addition to scenic float trips, guided fishing trips, and camping trips. Happily, we have already started taking some reservations!

season has arrived here in the Copper River Valley! It’s always impressive seeing these massive rivers break up. A little nerve wracking for riverfront neighbors, but we all held our breaths to see if the banks would hold, the would dam up more, or the would recede. While we waited last week we saw so many swans, caribou and ducks seemingly nonchalantly taking on the river.

The beauty of the moving water at these temperatures puts you in a trance. The mighty is still open even after a few weeks of 40 below zero. Of course, once it freezes on top it’s still always moving underneath, all winter long. Always on that eternal quest for the ocean...

Beautiful on the way home last night. Some cool little river features framed by picturesque scenery were definitely worth turning around for.
