🐴 That’s a wrap on two incredible days of Adult Horse Camp! 🤎
We just finished up two days with 11 wonderful adults who showed up with open minds, positive attitudes, and a genuine desire to learn. And honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better group.
On Day 1, we dove right into horsemanship. Our guests learned how horses and humans communicate, how to better understand what their horses are telling them, and how to work through stressful situations from the ground. We practiced brushing and tacking, learned the basics of riding, and started building that important foundation of communication and trust between horse and rider.
But somewhere between all the learning, there was plenty of laughing, joking, and getting to know one another. By the end of the first day, it felt like we had more than just a group of campers — we had a little community.
Then came Day 2, and it was time to put everything we had learned into practice. Everyone worked on tacking up their own horses before getting ready to head out on the trail.
..and then Mother Nature decided she had other plans. 😂🌧️
Rain showed up on the radar that definitely wasn’t part of our plans, so instead of letting it ruin the day, we decided to make the most of the unexpected change.
For the first time, we got to share a short but sweet liberty demonstration with our instructor and one of our horses, along with a few fun ba****ck riding tricks. It was something a little different, completely unplanned, and honestly, such a fun addition to the day.
And then, just like that, the skies cleared. ☀️
We saddled up and headed for the trail, managing to miss the rain and enjoy some much-needed time in the saddle.
Even though our trail ride was shorter than originally planned, it was peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what we needed. There’s just something special about being on horseback, surrounded by nature, with nowhere you need to be and nothing you need to do except breathe and enjoy the moment.
For some of our guests, these two days were about learning something new. For others, it was about gaining confidence, stepping outside their comfort zone, or simply having a chance to slow down and reconnect with themselves.
And that’s what makes these camps so special to us. ❤️
We are so incredibly thankful to each and every one of the 11 adults who spent these two days with us. Thank you for showing up ready to learn, ready to laugh, ready to try new things, and for making this camp so memorable.
