One of the biggest mistakes I see women make is staying with the same weights for way too long.
Here’s a simple rule:
If you can complete all 3 sets of 12 reps with good form and still feel like you had plenty left in the tank, it’s time to go up in weight.
Your body only changes when you give it a reason to adapt.
And let’s be honest...
You carry kids.
You haul all the groceries in one trip.
You move furniture around when nobody else is home.
You wrestle with cases of water from Costco.
You are not limited to 5 or 10 pound dumbbells.
Building muscle isn’t about becoming bulky. It’s about becoming stronger, improving your metabolism, supporting hormone health, protecting your bones, and creating the strength you’ll be grateful for in your 50s, 60s, and beyond.

Sometimes life forces you into a new chapter you never planned for.
When the business I spent 14 years building disappeared, there was grief in that. Not just for the income… but for the identity, the friendships, the purpose, and the vision we had worked so hard for.
But I’ve learned something in this season…
You are never too old, too late, or too stuck to start again.
What looked like an ending became an invitation to rebuild differently.
With more alignment.
More purpose.
More impact.
That’s what becoming an ambassador with Shaklee has given me.

It took Tyson YEARRRRRS to get me to go on rides with him. And to be fair, we had kids at home that couldn’t be left alone or they had activities they needed to be at, I was always working or had Army, or it was just too humid and hot in Florida to be sweating on a bike. There was too much going on to unplug for a few hours.
Moving to Texas and much better weather, kids are adults now, and retired from the Army and a much better balance of work life, I finally caved to riding with him.
It took me awhile to feel safe, but now it’s my favorite thing to do is take the bike out. Plus it’s much easier to find parking. And I get to enjoy the gorgeous views and sunsets. 🌅
This weekend we went to Bandera,Tx (also the cowboy capital of the world) and rode the twisted sisters… holy cow is hill country gorgeous. And this area had so many ranches and wildlife. Definitely going to go back again. But next time bring sunscreen because that sun is intense.
You don’t need more motivation… you need a decision.
Some days I don’t feel like it either.
But I press play anyway.
Because discipline builds what motivation never will.
And every time you show up when you don’t feel like it…
that’s where the real change happens.

Protein is a big topic right now because so may of us are reaching our 40s and perimenopause is kicking in. Tracking all the macros can be overwhelming but I have a simple protein tracker that you just take a photo of your meal and it tracks the amount for you! No overwhelm at all.
