Takedowns : Low Single Leg to Bow & Arrow / Loop Choke.
When I want to attack the back it’s important for me to take away their mobility by always controlling two limbs until I have the Bow & Arrow 90% locked in starting with the leg not the lapel.
A lot of how approach Jiu jitsu is based on starting in the finished position then reverse engineer the sequence to see how I can get back to the finish using 1/3 of my body.

Don’t forget the arm bar at the end after the last choke.
Throw back to when I stoped to say hi after a tournament and they let me share several techniques. Thank you for the hospitality 🙏🏼
In the beginning of my Jiu jitsu journey with the spinal cord injury with two things, I relied on the most to have any effects on my opponent were wristLocks and using the lapel to control.
As I got better and understood my body and theirs I stopped using the lapels as much. If you use a wheelchair it’s important to switch up your use of grips. We use our hands and arms for everything we do except sleeping. Gripping the GI can weaken our hands and overwork the small muscles.
What I do is split the days I train using lapel grips half the time and the other half I do what I call a moving frame. My focus is using my elbow and forearms to control to give my hands a break.
This classic grip happens all the time in Jiu Jitsu. Here is one way to stop it.
When I was a Blue Belt part of our warm up everyday was learning and drilling how to break grips. Breaking grips stop your partners attack and give you the control when done right. Put the time in and you will see a difference in your game
Tip : The number one thing to remember is to remove all slack before you start your motion.

I got to teach the kids class yesterday.
DBL Ezekiel Choke :
: Ezekiel Choke with Classic Lapel Grip
I found out over the years that majority of my opponents stay on mount when they get it. Because of this I am able to apply the some of the same chokes I did when I had a guard. I just need to watch out for arm locks.
With arm locks I’ve experienced that they are telegraphed in advance so I can always pull my arms back from danger. This takes time to get the timing down but that time will be priceless when you understand the positions options and dangers.
