Happy Independence Day! Stay safe and hydrated out there this weekend!!

Keeping Texas wild for the next 250 🇺🇸

As we celebrate July 4 and , we are grateful for the wild places that make Texas feel like home. From the Texas Longhorn roaming the plains to the Monarch Butterfly migrating across our open skies, these symbols remind us why protecting our natural heritage matters.

We remain committed to caring for the wild things and wild places that define our state so future generations can experience the Texas we love today.

Happy Fourth of July, y’all 🌟

At dusk, this barn owl swoops by like a feathered ghost 👻🦉Even the quietest creatures play a big role in nature’s nightly rhythm.

The storm has passed and the seas are slowly subsiding. Some bayside flooding and a little wind damage but the park is doing great. Centerpoint linemen did a great job getting power back to so many and still working into the night.

Dont mind us as we clean up a few things and get back in order for a hot but great looking weekend ahead.

PARK ALERT
Some roads on the bayside of the park will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, June 17-18, due to high tide and weather conditions. Observe closures for your safety.

National Prairie Day vibes: trying to soak in this real‑life screensaver view… while lugging plants across the coastal prairie 😂🌾

Coastal prairies are one of Texas’ most endangered habitats - less than 1% remains - yet they’re powerhouses for wildlife, water filtration, and even carbon storage. They help our coast stay resilient in a changing climate.🌎💚

Today we’re doing our part by planting natives to help restore and protect this rare ecosystem. Hard work, big impact, unbeatable view. 💪🌱✨

Curiosity hits all of us the same:
see ocean → run into ocean. 🌊🐾

Coyotes dive in for survival as much as play! The water cools them off, hides their scent, and even helps them chase a meal or cross into new territory.

Turns out the ocean’s not just for us… it’s their highway, hunting area, hideout, and playground too. 🌅🦊

Every species has a “learning to cross the road” moment, even clapper rails 🚸🐦.

These famously secretive marsh birds guide their downy chicks through cordgrass and tidal flats, teaching them how to forage, hide, and navigate the shifting tides that shape their habitat 🌿🌊

Whether you’re mastering the marsh or mastering life, everyone starts with tiny steps!✨
