HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT 📣⚾️

The GCYAA is proud to officially announce the 1st Annual Kibit Classic 8U Baseball Tournament.

This tournament is dedicated to a true LIVING LEGACY of GCYAA, Kenneth Kibit. Since 1987, Ken has helped shape generations of athletes, families, coaches, and memories throughout our community. His impact on GCYAA goes far beyond the baseball field, and we are honored to celebrate everything he has meant to this program.

The Kibit Classic will be run by Ken himself alongside the same volunteers behind the highly regarded Kerwin Classic tournament. We are excited to bring that same level of energy, competition, and community to 8U baseball.

Please join us in congratulating and recognizing Ken for nearly four decades of dedication to GCYAA and the kids of our community.

The GCYAA fields are more than just baseball and softball diamonds. They are where our kids learn teamwork, discipline, friendships, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Unfortunately, we have recently had several instances of vandalism and theft at our fields including individuals riding 4 wheelers, electric bikes, and other motorized vehicles across the playing surfaces. We have also had pitching mounds dug out and stolen, creating substantial costs to the program and taking away resources that should be going directly back to our kids and families.

Our volunteers and Garden City Parks & Recreation spend countless hours maintaining these fields and working to provide the best possible experience for the community. While we do have cameras on site and will continue to do everything we can to protect the property, we also need the community’s help.

If you see suspicious activity at the fields, especially during late night hours, please contact the Garden City Police Department, MI and help us protect something that belongs to all of our kids, families, and City of Garden City, Michigan.

We appreciate everyone who continues to support GCYAA and helps keep our program strong for the next generation.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at GCYAA.

Today we celebrate the moms, grandmas, stepmoms, team moms, and all of the women who help make this community what it is. Many of them are also coaches, leaders, volunteers, and role models for our athletes every single day.

Thank you for the early mornings, late nights, rides to practices, team snacks, coaching from the dugout, cheering from the stands, and everything you do behind the scenes to make youth sports possible.

GCYAA would not be what it is today without you.

We hope you have an amazing Mother’s Day at the ball fields and with your families.
