ALDC - All Liberian Diaspora Conference

ALDC - All Liberian Diaspora Conference The All Liberian Diaspora Conference (ALDC) is Liberia's premier run think tnank of professional organizations and individuals outside of Liberia.

The ALDC began on April 25 -26, 2015, when the largest gathering of Liberian organizations as the first post-elections All Liberian Diaspora Conference at the famous Churchill Hotel, located in Washington D.C, just ten minutes away from the historic Davis Hotel, where prominent Americans met nearly 200 years ago, on December 16, 1816 to form what is today LIBERIA! The purpose of ALDC conferences i

s to rethink our ethical and social actions since the foundation of Liberia nearly 200 years ago, and especially since the last 25years when a brutal civil war destroyed the fabric of our nationhood—a trauma the nation is still reeling from despite ten years of a very fragile democracy. The All Liberian Diaspora Conference, ALDC seeks to bring organizations and individuals that are critical resources for progressive movement-building in Liberia and its diaspora. The conference will address the theme of nation-building through civic education for social, economic, and political engagements, and to create networks across issues and/or communities; to promote home-grown leadership among groups that have been disadvantaged; and to contribute to a shared understanding of the problems of inequality and injustice; and offer a public space for the dialogue needed to identify common principles for genuinely rebuilding our beloved but fragile nation—in the here and now!
