I’ve lived and dived here in Tahoe for over 17 years, and with summer right around the corner, I’m seeing a lot of folks getting ready to jump in.

One thing many people don’t realize is that Lake Tahoe is a high-altitude dive. Because we are at 6,225 feet, the physics of the water and how our bodies handle nitrogen are totally different from those at sea level. Most standard certifications don't actually cover these specific risks.
